I have Macbook Air 13inch - mid2012 , and its battury is completly dead, I have tried to upgrade the software to high sierra but i vouldn't proceed the instalation steps because "your computer is not connected to a power source" is there any way to upgrade without changing the battury?

You could put it in target disk mode and then upgrade from another Mac.
Ok I have an Imac 21inch-mid2011 running high sierra, and Thunderbolt cable, now how could I put the macbookAir in Target mode? I'v tried command+F2 but it didn't work

hmmm....
If your battery is completely dead, how are you getting it to boot without connecting your power adapter?
You are using an Apple power adapter, and not something like an external battery, correct?

Have you tried an SMC reset, while connected to your power adapter?
Follow these steps - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
One change I would make is to NOT press the power button after the reset, just let your MBAir sit attached to the power adapter, and NOT powered on, yet.
Give your MBAir some time, just sitting connected to the power adapter. 30 minutes should be enough.
Boot to the installer, and try the install again.

If the battery is THAT bad (does not charge at all, even after waiting 30 minutes after an SMC reset), and you still get the same message, then - yes - it's time to replace the battery.

Hold down the T while powering up. Should then see grey screen with thunderbolt/lightning icon. Or "choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Startup Disk, then click Target Disk Mode."

I did that, grey screen with thunderbolt logo on it, but nothing new on the Imac,
so how to upgrade MBair from the Imac?

With a thunderbolt 1/2 cable connected between machines you should see the mini as a drive on the iMac - won't work with a simple mDP cable. If not, check if it is there in Disk Utility. Also could check in About This Mac - System Report - Thunderbolt to see if it sees macbook connected.
