someone mentioned in the UK ip4 thread that it would be cool to get this kind of info so lets put ACTUAL EXPERIENCES (NOT theories) in this thread.

here's what i reckon would be useful info for those like me who are visiting UK Apple Stores on 24/6:

> Did you reserve or not?

> What product where you collecting and which store was it?

> What time did you get there and how long was the reservation/non-reservation queue at that point?

> How long did you have to wait until you got into the store?

> How long did it take them to process your reservation/non-reservation?

> What time did you leave and how long was the queue at that point?

> Please tell us about any issues you faced or, god forbid, if the reservation wasn't honoured.

thanks.

Can you add something like "Did you reserved or not" as a question for people like me who haven't reserved and want the experiences of those who were just walk-in customers?

> Did you reserve or not?
nope.

> What product where you collecting and which store was it?
iPhone 3G, Kensington High Street, London.

> What time did you get there and how long was the reservation queue at that point?
6:30AM, 5 People

> How long did you have to wait until you got into the store?
Doors opened at 8:02, in pretty quick being at front.

> How long did it take them to process your reservation?
I was an upgrade from original iPhone, the server/computer system was very slow

> What time did you leave and how long was the queue at that point?
got out about 9ish? Queue was very long - probably past 5/8 shops approx, wasnt single file either

> Please tell us about any issues you faced or, god forbid, if the reservation wasn't honoured.
16GB was very limited, less than 20! lots of disappointment, additional delivery turned up that morning!

Oh and someone was dishing out Krispy Kremes :D

My experience of the 3GS launch at the Birmingham Bullring Applestore last year:

I didn't have a reservation.

I arrived at 07:30 to find a queue of about 20. We had free Starbucks coffee! There were probably about 50 in the queue in total by the time they opened at 8am. Those with Personal Shopping appointments went in first. I was allowed in the store about 8:30 for a play on the display 3GSs, and then started the upgrade process at 9am. My O2 contract upgrade and activation took about 20 minutes.

In all it was a smooth, very well run operation!

0 seconds.

2 minutes.

No issues at all, except feeling like a geek!
