I only have a handful of apps on my watch, all of which are companions of iPhone apps, so I'm interested in watch-specific apps that are worth checking out.

Not exactly an app, but you can set up a shortcut to use the Apple Watch's built in web browser.

I use Widgy's watch app, Watchy, to put arbitrary data into the smart stack. Took a little while to figure it out, but now the weekly recycling schedule is right there and always updated. 😂

Weather complications, Strava app, Workoutdoors app, Siri Reminders.

Duo mobile is one of my favorites and definitely the third-party watch app I use most frequently. My employer uses Duo and it is really nice to be able to respond to two-factor challenges without needing to pull my phone out.

Yeah Ping is good on mine too for the same reason, Duffy and Heart Analyser with Hello Weather and I couldnt live without Cheatsheet for sync'd reminders across my watch and phone.
