Since I got my iBook,I have been playing a lot of games on it. Almost all games run fine with no settings tweaks except for Battlefront which needs me to crank down the graphics. Probably cause of the Radeon 9550.

My favorite at the moment is, Return to the Castle Wolfenstein. Hexen II is probably the next game I'll try out.

Whats yours?

I haven't gamed on any PPC yet, but I love the Sims 2 and there is a PPC version of that. Hopefully it'll run on the MDD G4 I'm getting, if I put a Radeon 9x00 128MB video card in it.

Good luck getting Sims 2, EA is real ass about it. They took it off MacGarden for some reason I do not know as it won't really affect any sales of the game. Ebay might be your only option.

I already have the DMGs on my computer. Hey, after all, I do actually own all the expansion packs along with the main game on DVD ;)

The Sims 1. I enjoyed that one a lot more than the other Sims series.

And Tropico. I guess I like micromanagement.

Never really got into Diablo, how is it?

It's great. Been playing it for around 10 years now. It's nothing near the amount I used to play but I still have a bunch of characters n things on battle.net. I hop on and play now and again.

Never really played through the first Diablo but Diablo II is great

Man... I have a bunch.

Kobo Deluxe (awesome and free space shooter!)
Ragdoll Masters (ragdoll fighting game I always used to play when I was little, really good)
N-Ball (cool little physics platformer)
Truck Dismount, Stair Dismount (fun time wasters)
Quake 3 (only recently started playing it, but it's fun and fast paced)
N (another fun flash game from my childhood, works fine on PPC surprisingly)
Max Payne (you've gotta play this if you're a fan of shooters; it's a really good one.)

There's a great Elite Guard Sten-chick skin that turns all the average foot soldiers into a Sten-chick
(but retaining the male foot soldier voice).
File Planet had this along with various NSFW Sten-chick skins.
I played many a fan-submitted single player map too from File Planet (years ago).
But perhaps you know all this already though ;)

Now, I dunno about "Favorite Game", but as far as wicked fun...well, how about
a couple of Classic OS PPC games:

I used PPCs for so many years, I had different go-to games depending on what age I was. Many of them are now nostalgic games that I would clump into my "Once-Favorites"

  • Escape Velocity
  • Marathon
  • Warcraft 2
  • Carmageddon
  • Quake
  • Descent
  • Dark Forces
  • Lemmings
  • Shufflepuck Cafe
  • Super Maze Wars
  • Dungeon Master 2
  • Spaceward Ho!
  • Unreal Tournament
Those are the games I clocked the most hours on growing up, and still love playing from time to time. If you pressed me to select one, it would be Escape Velocity. I spent a lot of time using ResEdit to modify the game files, add weapons and ships, and prices in order to make myself king of the universe.

Yep, Q3A. Love playing it on my PMG4 QS. Brings back so many awesome 800x600, low frame rate, low detail gaming memories of my more youthful self.

UT is another. Same experience as described above.

Technically it's 68k, but Iron Helix was always a favourite of mine (although a Windows version was released soon after, with some improvements). Not many people seem to have heard of it; it's a sci-fi suspense/survival game where you're on a spaceship where a rogue AI security bot has killed all the crew and you need to stop the ship - while avoiding the robot - from entering alien space and starting a war. It freaked me out when I was 12 :)

I'm amazed that it's never been released for iPad, given that its UI is pretty much made for a tablet:
