I told my wife I'm not watching new Network Primetime shows because so few of them make it to a second season and it just ends up being a waste of time. This past season we reluctantly watched The River and Alcatraz and now both of them are gone.

We really have switched a lot of our watching to AMC, History Channel, etc. and premium cable channels like HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc.. Those shows have longer gaps between seasons, but it's worth it knowing they stand a good chance of coming back.

Hooray for:

Fringe
Law & Order SVU

Only TV shows I watch regularly and make time out of my day for are Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and Grey's Anatomy.

Any other girly shows that I catch I'm not really attached to so if they were to get cancelled, something else would fill in my DVR's space.

I am surprised that Fringe is back. It has been in cancelation rumors for years.

I am surprised that Fringe is back. It has been in cancelation rumors for years.

I really enjoy the show, but it has gotten a little wacky this past season. I still think it has some of the best characters for a network show. Walter is just superb and his relationship with Astrid is really good writing.

I like Fringe but I miss one episode and suddenly I have no idea what is going on. I can't watch it because I am completely lost in the plot.

In other news, Two and a Half Men moving to Thursday next season.

You and me both. The wife and I pretty much watch only those on the networks outside of the big three. We have a few we really like and are glad to see them back.

We started watching Grimm and were praying it comes back so we are happy to see it make it back.

We are also in the habit of watching shows via netflix a season behind or buying the dvd's for those shows we really like ala Mad Men and True Blood.

I think Fringe is only getting a few episodes like 11 or so to end the series this year. If they were not going to be able to end it, I know they were going to be doing a comic book run to end it. I actually hope they still do the comic book though. :)

Alec Baldwin said he was going to end once his contract was up, so the show would basically end.

SVU has sucked ever since Christopher Meloni left. And now they're running out of ideas. Anytime I see a news story about a murder or rape, my first thought is "How long until this is an SVU episode?"

I prefer watching the reruns that air frequently on USA. I haven't seen most of the old episodes, so they're new to me. And good.

Yep, a show like SVU that has had such a long run certainly has plenty of reruns to catch in syndication. I really liked Meloni too. It was interesting to see him in Trueblood this past season.
