Your location could not be determined: GPS problems with 2.1 Iphone

So I'm trying to use maps but when i hit the location button, but it refuses to find me. Before 2.1, it was no problem for the phone to find me but Maps just wont work! Is the problem my phone or the 2.1 firmware?

Fix that works for me

I had this problem too and here's a solution that works for me. I am using Firmware version 2.1 on my iPhone 3G.

Go to Settings. Go to WiFi. Turn on WiFi.

You do NOT have to be connected to a WiFi network. You just have to have it turned on.
You do NOT have to have 3G turned on.

I to have had this problem since the 2.1 update. We had checked to make sure location services is "on".

Seems that my carrier is saying the it has something to do with google maps. They suggested that I go to an apple store or a retailer and conduct a field test there. If my phone will not locate me, then they think there is a problem with the built in antenna and will replace the phone.
