I've googled deep but still can't find any answers to getting rid of this pop up in Chrome.

running an imac on Mojave 10.14.5

sorry it's lifeimpressions.net

Have you tried to restore your Chrome to defaults?
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More. Settings.
  3. At the bottom, click Advanced. Chromebook, Linux, and Mac: Under "Reset Settings," click Restore settings to their original defaults. Reset Settings.

You can also try this cool Terminal command:
  • defaults write com.google.Chrome HomepageIsNewTabPage -bool false
  • defaults write com.google.Chrome NewTabPageLocation -string "https://www.google.com/"
  • defaults write com.google.Chrome HomepageLocation -string "https://www.google.com/"
  • defaults delete com.google.Chrome DefaultSearchProviderSearchURL
  • defaults delete com.google.Chrome DefaultSearchProviderNewTabURL
  • defaults delete com.google.Chrome DefaultSearchProviderName

Problem:
"Your Mac is infected? lifeimpression.net" pop up everytime I launch Chrome on imac

My solution:
1. STOP USING Chrome. Use something else.

2. Download and run Malwarebytes:

IMPORTANT:
Select the "home" option.
It's a FREE download

IMPORTANT:
You DO NOT NEED TO BUY A SUBSCRIPTION to run MalwareBytes.
It will run FOREVER IN FREE MODE.

When you open it, IGNORE the button to "Upgrade Now" or "Activate License".
Just click "Scan".
Again, you DO NOT have to buy the pay-for version!
