I am running Chrome on Mac Version 55.0.2883.59 beta (64-bit)

My OS version os macOS Sierra 10.12.1

I've been getting this error message on my old computer for ages now. I suspected it something to do with my preferences file, like the prompts. So when I got a new Mac computer, I didn't import my old preferences. I didn't sign into Chrome Sync on the browser.

Instead, all I did was to export my old bookmarks into an HTML file, and re-import that into my new computer. At first, everything was fine, but after I restarted my computer, the error message reappeared.

Did you check the box and click OK?

I don't have Chrome installed. I'm guessing that the plist file is called com.google.chrome.plist or something similar.
Hold down Option and click the Go menu. Select Library. Open the Preferences folder. Try to find a file with that name, or similar. Delete it. Start Chrome.

I don't use Chrome, but if I did, I'd do this:
1. Save bookmarks
2. Quit Chrome
3. Find the "corrupt" preferences file and delete it
4. Restart Chrome
5. Reimport bookmarks
6. Set preferences as desired.

Then...
Quit Chrome again, and reopen it again.
Does the "corrupt" message still appear?
