I like using a lightweight browser, and anything that would otherwise be controlled using advanced features can be manipulated using privoxy. Privoxy and clam anti-virus are run on demand using launchd and I use quicksilver with keyboard shortcuts (triggers) for all my most used apps. All installed by Fink of course.
