Microsoft Office 2008 - office suit with word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, like Office 07 for Windows.

iWork 08 - kicks Microsoft Office's ass any day. Office suite but better.

VLC - played everything I threw at it thus far (fyi, I've used this approx. 2 years) media player, audio and video.

Transmission - bittorrent client. use it when some software companies use torrents to download the software.

Firefox - when I need to visit my local college's web courses, safari doesn't work for some reason.

TextWrangler - nice text editor, programmer's tool.

VisualHub - no longer being developed, but converts a lot of video files

AudialHub - like VisualHub but it converts audio instead of video.

UnRarX - winrar but for mac.

Skype - im/audio/video messaging client

ScreenFlow/iShowU - screencast apps, they record your screen.

Think that's 10.. too lazy to count. :D

1. iLife
2. iWork
3. Mellel
4. DEVONThink Pro Office
5. Bookends
6. Scrivener
7. VMWare Fusion
8. VLC Media Player
9. OmniOutliner Pro
10. Quicksilver

Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac is a bad piece of software. I wish it was streamlined as Office 2007 for Windows. But it is not; it is just bloated, so I simply cannot put it on the Top 10.

That's pretty much my top list there too.
