Or is it a deliberate design choice to frequently refresh the app when you go back to it?
I’ve a 1TB iPad Pro, so 6gb RAM, and it blows my mind how if you switch apps and then go back to the YouTube app after a little while, it refreshes it completely to the launch screen. It’s really irritating. It even does it if you leave the app open, full screen, sleep your iPad, then come back 10 minutes later (roughly, not scientific).
NO other app I use behaves like this, I do not believe this is an operating system/ram issue, and I put it squarely on Google. It was exactly the same on iOS12 so it’s not iOS13 specific. It’s like bad old iOS days when the devices were ram starved (I’m looking at you 6 Plus & iPad Air 1, don’t make me come back there).
