Youtube app sends you to chrome in App Store

When I click a link in a YouTube video (in the description) it asks if I want to open in safari or download chrome from App Store.
I press open in safari and wooosh... I’m being sent to chrome in the App Store!

Deliberately by google? Anybody else seeing the same?

I’m on 12.4 iPhone 6S.
