YouTube blank screen audio only in app or safari or other apps

YouTube half the time is not loading the video the other half in YouTube app it's playing audio only. This is the case in safari or chrome browser as well . In fact all non YouTube video files are behaving weirdly where the video screen shows up but nothing happens not even audio

I am on iOS 8.1

Strange. There really is no setting for that. Do other apps work? Like Netflix or Hulu

Yes they work fine. It's only on YouTube videos or non YouTube videos where the video layout on iOS comes into play
