Youtube crashes/ slow video playback HELP!!!

1. Whenever I go on the Youtube home site, Safari loads the page halfway loads, then Safari crashes. I have to restart my internet connection to get my home page to load after the crash. (I have Safari 4.1.3) Even weirder, if I get a link to a youtube video, my Mac will play it on youtube! I have done everything that I can think of- reinstalling Safari, Installing a new version of Flash, Installing Firefox (in Firefox it crashes too!) This has been happening for about 2 weeks. PLEASE HELP!

2. Video playback is slow on every site, too. HELP!

I have Mac OS X 10.4.11, PPC G3

switch over to the html5 version of youtube.

In this HTML5 version, can I just search in the regular searchbar? Will the Videos play faster? I clicked the join trial button...
