youtube loading videos incredibly slow

hi.. is anyone else have a problem where youtube will load videos incredibly slow ? how do you solve it
 
whats the alternative other than using safari? because i dont like browsing youtube on safari
 
No it is not my connection. I am using wifi with my iPhone right now as i am waiting for my sim card. YouTube loads better in safari but I see a drop in quality....

Does the YouTube app automatically load videos in the highest resolution? Maybe this is what is making the video load so slow.

How can I fix this
 
Okay well I have come to the conclusion that the Youtube app takes significantly longer to load videos because it automatically choosing the highest resolution the video is available in (lets say 1080p HD) which makes the loading time a lot longer.

Are there any apps in the appstore that are good for watching video? I don't like using the mobile version because browsing videos takes too long

You can give FoxTube a try. I've heard mixed things about it, but, if you don't like Safari or the YouTube app, you don't have many options.
 
Go to your youtube account settings and change to I have a slow connection instead of allowing youtube to select. This keeps youtube from loading hd content. Of course when on computer or apple tv this may need to be changed back. Hope this helps.

iPad, iPhone, and :apple:TV are the main problems that I have. It seems like buffering takes forever on any of those.
 
For myself YouTube has been slow for the past week, on my PC, Mac, iPhone and iPad. Whether it's on a Desktop browser, YouTube app or mobile site. I think it's a problem with YouTube. I tried on differ wifi connections and on 3G. Even my favs been loading slow and they usually load quick.

Personally I think it the billions of idiots who are watching recaps of American Idol at the same time that's killing the servers.

Youtube servers seem to always be on edge but everyone should realize that youtube on iDevices suck.

Hi i just tried this but since i had to change the settings from my PC im not sure if they carry over to my iphone?

I haven't noticed a decrease in quality of the video on my iphone compared to PC but I will have to wait a day to see if a notice faster loading
