iPad YOUTUBE not seeing TV

I use to be able to play a youtube video fom the IPAD onto the TV, as long as the TV was on, I could press the screen and the TV broadcast buttion would come up... It would automatically Identify the TV... Now it does not happen... I can PAIR the Ipad to the TV but this use to happen automatically.... What was changed?

So your TV has airplay built in? Or were you trying to go through a appletv?

I had trouble going from my ipad to appletv to the tv recently.

Ive also been having major issues with youtube and airplay. So infuriating they still cant get it right. The app also craps out all the time with playback errors, tap to retry.
