Another popular platform is launching an end-of-year highlight reel. First came Spotify Wrapped, then Apple Music Replay, and now there is the YouTube Recap.

YouTube Recap highlights your viewing habits, top channels, personal interests, and more, based on your watch history. If you listened to a lot of music on YouTube in 2025, you can also see your top artists and songs of the year.

You can share your personal highlights on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

YouTube Recap will be available starting today for users in the U.S. and Canada, and it will roll out in other countries this week. It can be accessed via YouTube's homepage on the web, or by tapping on the "You" tab in the iOS or Android app.

I don't have anything under recap for whatever reason. Using my browser to check as I don't have the mobile app installed.

That's fine...the only thing I watch on YouTube is Practical Engineering and This Old House.

On the web it's supposed to be at https://www.youtube.com/recap but comments on the short by official staff suggest it's still rolling out over the day. I doubt they will have anything for me unless they correlate my shadow profile (from my not-signed-in cookie) to my account since they successfully baited me to sign in today. If so it'll probably all be 80s music videos and game hints.

I have brought him up a few times but I haven't heard him since the IMore podcast days. Seems like there are other tech YouTubers more prolific than him.
I used to really enjoy his takes when he was a regular on MacBreak Weekly, but haven't kept up...

He was really good on MacBreak Weekly but after he left I quit listening, mostly because of Alex Lindsay. I didn't follow him to YouTube.

Learn how much of your life you wasted watching influencer videos from a guy making millions at half your age.

I just keep history off entirely.. Its refreshing to open my YouTube and not see any suggestions.. I follow the channels I want by subscribing and checking those out.. I almost never click on stuff YouTube suggests on the side bars..

I have mine turned off (so no Recap for me, either) and use the Unhook extension on Firefox to redirect my home page to the Subscriptions page. It's a much less cluttered experience.

Good to know. Will be interesting to see all the different highlights these apps are going to show.

Super lame. It told me that I watch tech videos on at least 7 different slides. I get it, I should go outside once in a while.
