Youtube Speeding up when on different screen

Hi all,

When I have Safari opened to youtube, but then go over to another full screen, such as Pages or my app centre, and then return back to youtube after a couple of moments, the video on the youtube has not kept up with the audio, causing the youtube video to "fast forward" until it catches up to where the audio is.

Any ideas on what's causing this and if it can be fixed?
