i'm looking for a (mac-compatible) FREE convertor that will change YouTube videos into an MP4 format so that i can watch them on my iPhone. I know about TubeSock but thats fifteen bucks and i'm sure there is a good free one out there. what do you guys use?

This page:

http://zamzar.com/

Is an online file conversion site. And this page:

http://www.zamzar.com/tools/

Gives you a link you can drag to your bookmarks bar so you can convert YouTube videos into whatever file type you want and emailed to you. I got a link to put on my bookmarks toolbar so when you click it while you're at a YouTube site, it will input the file into Zamzar and just ask you what file type you want and your email address and it'll convert and email it to you. No downloading of any programs necessary. It also works for converting files on your computer, you just upload them via the home page.

Is this still the best way to do this? or is there a more simple way to download youtube videos to Itunes?

If you have the vids already or download them to your Mac, then this site seems to do everything to and from almost every format.

If you have a jailbroken phone/ipod you can use the mxtube application.
It will allow you to directly download to your phone. It should be in the installer list.

I haven't figured out how to get them back into itunes though, although its a great app.
