We've been lucky enough to get all new tech at work; I got an M3 15" MBA in midnight and now I've a Z Fold 6 on its way to me, so when I'm out and about I've got that as my portable desktop and when I'm over in the Dublin offices, I'll have both etc (and my 16PM)

Wanted something different rather than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold again and settled on this (I did consider a 9 Pro XL but wanted the bigger screen)

The Z Fold 6s have dropped in price, a LOT and I've got this from eBay UK, brand new/sealed etc from a seller with very high feedback at a crazy saving over new (silly prices really); EE are selling them brand new/SIM free for £1060 currently, that was my 2nd option as other eBay prices are either close to, same or more... 😂

I've gone for the Silver 256GB model as don't need more than that; Spigen screen protector and Slim Armor case on their way to me as well

Will get pictures of it up when it lands...

Using my ZF6 for the first time in a good while this weekend and forgot how much I really like this device. May have to reintroduce to the rotation. The front screen is the biggest drawback of the ZF6 compared to the Pixel 9PF and OnePlus Open but it's really not that bad at all and it definitely is a better looking display than those two even if not quite as big

Yeah;' that was my only concern but TBH the front screen will get used for making/taking calls and if I decide to use it as my daily driver for a change; quick messages etc (oh and pictures)

Rest of the time it'll be open. Having shovel like hands helps with phones like this ;)

Z Fold 6 just landed with me; just getting it set up now :)

Went for the 256GB / Blue one; it's a lovely colour and better than all black.

Fitted the Spigen EZFit screen protector and camera lens protectors to it as soon as I unboxed it; fitted a Memumi aramid Magsafe case to it as well:

Will let it do all its updates and data transfer and will then start to get it set up as to how I want it etc 👌🏼

I don't have large hands but find it always open even when one the go..
I have very large hands and that's really the only reason I wish the ZF6 was just a *little* bit wider. Its actually fine for viewing most content on the front display, but typing does get just a tad cramped for me. I know I can always open it up but for texts and even shorter emails I prefer to swipe type on the front screen.

TBH I was worried about that too; more so after having the Pixel 9 Pro Fold for a while

But I've been using it a lot since I set it up; installed MS Swiftkey keyboard on it; resized it and it's spot on. Zero issues :)

I've fat thumbs and they're what I use to text/WhatsApp 😂

So sods law struck yesterday evening; noticed the Z Fold 6 wasn't opening smoothly as it should be and that there was a damaged/warped section on the inner screen surround 😒

This must be a factory issue as the box was fully sealed 😑

Sent it back to the reseller on eBay and he's shipped me another out today, so I'll get that set up (again) tomorrow 😂

My Galaxy Watch Ultra lands tomorrow too; once I'm done with my meetings it'll be like Christmas again 👌🏼

Oh wow good luck on the new one, at least it was early in with it

I also use the Galaxy Fold for work and I think it's a great device for it. It's much more functional and practical than the iPhone (because of its absurd limitations of iOS in terms of multitasking) and Pixel (very good layer, very careful, but it doesn't have as many functionalities as One UI).

I work a lot passing files and calling customers, and having the multiwindow like a tablet saves me a lot of time or, at least, makes those daily tasks less tedious.

It is a very fun device to use and that I find very useful for work. It is a very well built mobile, with a good screen, good autonomy (with the use I give it, which is messaging, calls, moving files between apps), it lasts about two working days (outside work I hardly use it).

Personally I still have the Apple ecosystem, but the truth is that I don't see myself working with iOS/iPadOS... it has too many absurd limitations that hinder productivity.

It's ideal for me as if I'm out and about; I've got a full screen in front of me and I've got a separate folder for all my work apps/email/WhatsApp etc

My iPhone has my work email account on it but that's it; does what I need it to do when needed etc

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra all set up and restored from the last time I had one back in September; makes life much easier ;)

Fitted it with an Ultimal strap as much prefer them and I've fitted a clear Ringke case to it as well to keep it protected; as well as a Spigen EZ screen protector 👍🏻

I'll flip between my 16PM and AWU2 and the ZF6 and GWU

I've got my business number on the ZF6 as an eSIM and my personal number in my 16PM as a physical SIM; makes it easy to swap around then 👌🏼

So far so impressed... Its a great phone to use.

I've got SwiftKey installed as IMO it's the best keyboard out there. Resized it so it makes typing on the front screen easier for my fat thumbs etc

It's great to use closed but obviously superb to use when opened

The cameras very good too. OK it's not on the same level as my 16PM but that's to be expected. However for point n shoot pictures. I cannot tell any difference between the 👌🏼

I always stick to my gboard but it's been a minute since I've used that keyboard but always enjoyed it

In my opinion, the cameras aren't good enough for the price they have. I would like a somewhat more "advanced" hardware in a device of almost 2000 euros.

It doesn't take bad photos, but it's a far cry from the Pixel 9 Pro XL or iPhone 15 Pro Max (I think I uploaded a comparison between the three here a few months ago). With RAW Expert you can take better photographs, but they still do not reach the level of detail and definition of other alternatives.

For a device of this price, I don't ask that it have the hardware of the S24U, but if the main camera of this one and the new ALOP zoom recently presented... hopefully for the Fold 7.
Otherwise, I agree with you, it is an exceptional device and is very enjoyed. I personally have the original keyboard, it reminds me of the iPhone and it doesn't get very complicated to use.

That I get; more so with having (had) a 16PM too

But for point n shoot; IMO, they do a good job

And that's me iPhone/AWU2 free... Both sold yesterday and were collected :)

ZF6 set up with business SIM as SIM2 / eSIM and my personal SIM as SIM1 etc

Textra as the SMS app and I've got my work apps in the work folder; so have WhatsApp for work and my personal WhatsApp too

Really liking the GWU too; I actually prefer its form factor; the apps I use/want/need all work on it and work well. Treated myself to some new metal and leather straps yesterday too; will see what they're like when they land from Amazon UK and an Ultimal from Amazon US)

I agree the price is high, but then again... you have to consider what we are getting. The s24U doesn't have two screens and a hinge. Along with 3 different set of camera arrangements.

Look at the Fold 6 SE, Samsung did the 200MP... but removed S-Pen support. And guess what? They raised the price and that's why I push back on the price argument. I'm all for a flagship camera on the Fold... but are you willing to pay the cost for it.

Wow... you commited already? That didn't long. But I'm curious though... if I'm not mistaken you had the 9 Pro Fold?

What's the reason behind commiting to the Z Fold 6 over the 9 Pro Fold?

I did; but the 9PF got sold on as I'd gone back to the iPhone and TBH; I never gelled with the Pixel. Superb phone; but for some reason it just didn't float my boat

But now not needing an iPhone I wanted to move back to Android and as I really liked the GWU when I had that last time around; decided to go the whole hog and get the ZF6 to pair with it

And that’s the 2nd ZF6 sent back to the reseller for a full refund

It started taking blue pictures and after a few factory resets, it didn’t change and im not faffing with Samsung support or an exchange etc

Massively unimpressed; but not a lot I can do.

The sellers been great; just absolutely sods law

Will make do with my Pixel 4XL for now and decide on the replacement ASAP. It won’t be an iPhone as I like the Samsung Watch Ultra too much ;)
