After spending a while looking for a case that met my needs, I decided on the Zagg Folio. - http://www.zagg.com/accessories/zaggfolio-ipad-3-keyboard-case#carbonFiber-silver

I knew I'd have to pay a bit extra to get it shipped to the UK but thought it was worth it. It arrived this morning after a months wait :). Here's a few pics:

Overall I'm really impressed with the whole thing. The keyboard is nice to use, the iPad itself is well protected and its perfect for those who want to type on the move without having a separate keyboard.

The build quality is good - it feels rigid and secure, the only thing I am a bit down about is that the red backing has poorly cut edges where it has been stuck on to the black plastic which makes it look a bit shoddy if you inspect it up close.

Still definitely worth the money though.

Looks very nice. Definitely makes me want to get one. I've considered one a couple times (and the Adonit one), but a couple things hold me back. I like the ease of pulling the smart cover off and using the iPad naked. The Adonit looked really easy to remove. How easy is removing the Zagg Folio?

The bigger issue for me, though, is that the same keyboard commands that work on the Mac don't all work on iOS. I use a lot of the emacs style keyboard shortcuts like control-d for forward delete and some others that don't work on iOS, and with also using Windows at work, I just don't want to have a 3rd mental keyboard map. It makes me think I'd rather just keep it simple and use the onscreen keyboard.

zaggy

Getting one for my daughter's ipad3 that she'll use at university. (She will use top of the line Dells provided by the university to do architecture work) - the ipad's for taking notes, surfing the web, email and such.

Ordered one as well, it will hopefully be arriving by the end of this week or the start of the next. :)

You are right about the shipping being rather costly, almost 25% of the cost of the zaggfolio for me! Couldn't find any friends willing to share in the shipping, as they all baulked at the idea of attaching an external keyboard to an ipad and negating its form factor.

Only gripe I have with their company is that at the time of ordering, it is not immediately apparent that it takes ~2 weeks to process your order and get it ready for shipping (their website states it will leave their warehouse in 1-2 days). So if you want to buy one as a gift, give yourself 3-4 weeks to see it shipped. :p

I agree just didn't like having a seperate keyboard and dock/case. Much prefer everything being all in one and makes it much easier to use if you're not at a desk and need to use the keyboard. Its quite a tight fit tbh but thats a good thing in my eyes, feels safe and solid :).

That's exactly what I'm using mine for, makes things much easier and its great just throwing it in a bag and going to lectures or the library and being able to use it anywhere. Makes it brilliantly versatile!

Yeah delivery was 25-30 dollars from what I remember :). Agreed, when I ordered it, the site said it was in stock and it would be shipped after 2 days but it was delayed 3 weeks! Wasn't impressed but was worth the wait and wasn't worth trying to mess around cancelling my order/changing it.

Only other gripe would be the hit of paying import tax, was more than I thought it would be!

I'm waiting to order until I can find one at a discounted price. I would really like to have a keyboard case but won't be using it as a full-time option and just can't justify the $99 price tag for myself... Will be even more tempted when/if Microsoft comes out with iOS Office app.
