zio! card reader not being recognized

I'm not sure if it's compatible or not but I am using a zio! usb smartmedia card reader in my mac and it is not recognizing it. I go to system profiler and it says it's there but I have no idea where to retrieve the pictures I have taken. I usually use it with my pc but I am going to London this summer and need it for that. If anyone can give any suggestions that would be great!

Here's a problem that may not be worth putting too much into -- Microtech has essentialy left the business, I can't seem to find the address of their manufacturer, a Taiwanese firm. I know the last time I tried to get support and parts from them it was utterly a waste of time - they had discontinued support for the Microtech line.

If the reader is broken, or if it for some reason requires drivers for OSX, then I suggest you abandon it and get a new USB 2.0 reader for $15 - $30
