When I download .zip files they appear in my downloads folder as .sit files and they open in Microsoft Office. I've tried to change how they open the files but it only has Microsoft Office as a option.

Can anyone help?

Right-click, Get Info, go through the Open With menu and find StuffIt or whatever you use to decompress, select that, and choose Change All. Agree with the alert, and .zip decompression will work.
