Hi Guys,

Long time lurker here. I'm looking for some advice on travel bag options for my Retina Macbook Pro 13 (late 2014).

I've been trying to find a messenger style bag with shoulder strap that fits snugly around the MBP and also has a shoulder strap. Since the silver coating on the laptop is prone to scratches, I'd rather have something that doesn't have a zip for the compartment that holds the MBP.

Has anyone got any suggestions? The closest I've found is Brenthaven's Collins Sleeve Plus but it's not available in the UK. :(

If you have other reasons for not wanting a zipper, you didn't explain them, but many bags come with heavy duty nylon zippers that won't scratch your MacBook (technically there's no coating on it).

I just looked at a few of mine and although many have metal zips, the actual zippers are nylon. A few do have polished metal zippers though.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

That's the only reason for not wanting a zip really. I know it technically doesn't have a coating, but the brushed metal does seem to get scratched easily. I've only had it for a week and there's already a hairline scratch on the right side near the SDXC slot. Call me paranoid.

Thanks for the suggesting Timbuk2. I'll take a look but they do seem a bit pricey...
