Zipping files in a Mac Application

Hi,


We are creating a very simple application that lets users select mutiple files, zip it and post the zip file to ftp.

I was wondering if there is a good ziping component(preferable less expensive) that we can buy to compress/decompress & pasword protect zip files.

Isn't the zip command built into unix? Can't you just use that?
