Zoom in pixels?

When I zoom on my screen with ctrl and scroll, it gets blurry. But when my friend does it it gets clear pixels. With hard edges. I get those soft edges.
We have same type of MacBook and both of us have Snow Leopard and latest update.

How do I get pixels/he get it blurry?

System Preferences->Universal Access->Seeing tab Options… button beside zoom. You are looking for the "Smooth images" checkbox (which also lists the keyboard shortcut for toggling it)
