I'm pretty sure that the Zune is not compatible with Mac computers, or iTunes for that matter. If you have a PC, you could transfer your music onto it, and sync using it.

They'll play on your Zune just fine if they're in mp3 format. I think albums bought in iTunes Plus should work as well, but you won't be able to use the iTunes software to sync, you'd have to find an alternative.

So basically there is no way I can just drag all my songs into the Zune? That sucks.

Yea, MS can do some real damage if they make it Mac compatible. The Zunes are being discounted heavily this holiday.

The workaround is using an Intel Mac with virtualization and point the Zune software to your iTunes folder... your Apple protected stuff won't sync though...

I'm not gonna lie, I would get a zune if if worked on a mac.

and I'm sure MS could do an iTunes plug in real fast, too..

No, because it took them a year to get software out for the PC (the original Zune software was just URGE with a skin).

The complication would come trying to use WMA files with DRM. So no, I don't think they could “just” do a plugin.

and Zune arrgghh.. First Zune in my opinion is anti-Mac...

They wanna force you using only windows to sync with Zune that's sick.

I have plenty friends with ipods and they don't have a mac..

The bad:
  • Don't sync with your itunes or any official software for Mac OS X (music, calendar, contacts, podcasts...)
  • Is a cheap rip of a ipod (if click wheel hasn't patent I bet that zune would have it too...)
  • You give money to universal, universal get a fee for each zune sold!

The good:
  • It's cheap compared with iPod
  • You have more space with less money
  • Nobody will steel it... Who wants that? Your are safe.. :)

Pretty sure you can't even use the Zune as an external drive so you can't drag songs onto it at all even if you do plug it into your Mac.

If I am not mistaken libMTP may work, seeing as the zune is using a modified version of MTP file transfer.

Another reason why someone may get the Zune.
3in screen compared to the 2.5in of the iPod

Then again at low prices it has been going for these days on buy.com and Amazon it is very tempting to get one.

ya but remember, the first iPod was only compatible with macs. I would still get an iPod though.
