Hey all,

Was wondering if any of you have had experience with this print server and could tell me how, or if, you got it to work. It claims it's Mac compatible, though it needs a PC to set up. And from other reviews on the net, some have been able to get it to work with their Macs. I was able to set it up and make it work with my Windows XP machine, but when it comes to my Mac, nada. I've followed the instructions in their user manual on page 61 to a T (well, adapting it for Mac OS X 10.5.X) and I'm not getting anything. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Just an update I forgot to mention previously. My printer is an Epson Stylus Photo RX595. It's not specifically on the supported printers page, but other RXxxx models (both lower and higher in number) are. And considering I got it to work on my XP machine, I would assume it is compatible.

Did you set the server's IP address to be in the same subnet as everything else? Did you use the Gutenprint driver as shown in the manual? Did you use the queue name lpt1?

You can get a newer version of Gutenprint here:
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3

It looks to me like this print server should work with OS X.

I have set the server's IP address to be on the same subnet, yes. And I've used the queue name lpt1. I haven't tried the Gutenprint drivers yet though as I thought the drivers for OS X would suffice (the printer works when connected directly to my Mac), but I will try this for sure. Thank you for the suggestion and the link to the updated drivers. I'll post back on this when I've had an opportunity to try it out. Thanks again for the help :)

The Gutenprint drivers worked for printing, thanks gsahli. But the scanning function won't work. Anybody know how to scan with a multifunction print server?
