Thanks, both, for the kind words. Aerobics, indeed! Or maybe he is hailing a taxi...

Love looking at your hummingbird images.

For those asking about how he does it, I thought I'd share some other online information on photographing hummingbirds. I suspect these couple of articles by Scott Bourne are pretty similar to how the hummingbird photos shared here have been made.

Armenian crosses

A local Armenian church annually places crosses to commemorate the Armenian genocide. I notice this yearly and tend to shoot it yearly, trying each time to try something new. This year I got lower than I have before and used a 50mm lens rather than a 35mm lens. May also try going back at night this year to see how it changes in low-light.

Thanks, Keleko. Glad you are enjoying them.

I haven't seen those specific links before, but those articles describe one of the common techniques (and I started by reading similar articles). My technique is a bit of a mish-mash at this point, as I am really still experimenting with different ideas. I'm trying to find time to put something together with a BTS look for those who are interested.

A slightly different look for today:

The kids are taking Balloons to the clubs these days

Electric fence? Are you sure that's a club and not a juvenile detention camp? :D

My pic for today - a montage of GoPro images. Note to self: when you take your camera out into the dales for the day, you have to actually stop and get off the bike to use it.

Since pictures of flowers are blooming all over this site (sorry for the pun), here's mine. I was playing with the multiple exposure setting on my camera to create a French impressionistic-type of picture.

This poor little fella flew straight into my sliding glass door one morning last week. It bounced off with a loud thud and landed on a fabric chair. It sat there for about 3-5 minutes, blinking, but otherwise not moving. Then it just up and flew away, as if nothing had happened.

My wife still has the flower ring her bridesmaid carried from 16 years ago. It gets pretty dusty though. Maybe I should attack it with my lens rocket blower!

Yeah Mrs MacRy's bouquet is pretty dusty too. We daren't dust it in case it disintegrates though as it looks so fragile.

Initially took this for this weeks competition, until I realised it said not macro! Should have read that first! Anyway thought I would still share it with you guys.[url=https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3755/13910420612_4137d882ea_b.jpg]Image[/url]20140417-_DSC1558 by apple fanboy1, on Flickr

By the way they have dropped the drawing pin button in favour of these selections now. I guess there were too many complaints. I used BB Code which I guess is the right one.

too bad..

nicely lit, I just saw the bts shot too

I've started tweaking even my film shots a little bit now!

It seems I can't simple just 'take a photo anymore!'

very nice fuji/rokkor colors

That is a really intense orange sunset, I've never seen it before. I've come back and looked at this several times now and I have to ask. What is with the double sun? I know there is a natural phenomena which makes that appearance, but forget exactly how.

From my 365 Project, where I am taking six images a week with my iPhone and one long exposure with my DSLR. Idea being to slow down and think even more about the imagery I am creating.
