I know the S5 is THE flagship announcement from MWC, but anybody eyeballing the Z2?

Killer features:
  • Gorgeous Screen
  • 3200 mAH battery
  • 4K recording
  • Stereo speakers
  • Waterproof

I don't care for 4K recording but that IPX8 waterproofing is nice. I go to Vegas pool parties every summer, I can just drop the thing in my trunk pocket

If it's not too big I'll probably buy it.

It has everything:

- 3GB RAM.
- MicroSD.
- IPS display.
- Huge battery.
- Stereo speakers.
- Clean and simple UI.
- On screen buttons.

Just waiting on the New HTC One to make a decision. The Z2 is the phone to beat. That S5 is hideous.

The specs and features look amazing. But those bezels....are huge!
I know they said March for a release date but does anyone have more info on carriers and dates?

Why's your definition of big?

It's enormous and heavy IMO for a 5.2" phone. 4.4 mm (.17") shorter than the Note 3. Even with respect to weight they are nearly identical. (Z2 is 163 grams and the Note 3 is 168 grams.)

I guess it would come down to use cases.....go with the Note 3 if you use the S-Pen.... Go with the Z2 if you want a better camera and water proof....

I don't think I could handle the size but it is awesome.

Thanks, but I make a point of never buying a phone with a built-in battery (the iPhone I had was a gift).

Not belittling the option. Most people don't need it and considering battery life is generally getting better across the board, I just don't think we're going to see it as an available option too much longer.

I currently have the Z1..Previously owned iphone for 5 years (all versions including 5S), SGS3 and SGS4..This is by far the best phone i've had..Battery life is awesome and it lasts more than a day whereas with Samsung i used to charge twice a day.
Camera is great, Sony UI is really fast with almost no bloatware, so is the quality of build, how it feels in hand, every time i take it out of a pocket, i get asked about it!!

So I'd probably swap this for the Z2 when its available..

Other than wireless charging, it seems like the perfect Android phone to me.

Now I have to decide if I'll replace my iPhone 5s with one. It's mighty tempting.

For me it will be the best phone at least for the first half of 2014.
I will definitly buy this beast.

Premium build quality with high-end specs and a beautiful design.

Just need to see if I could handle the size shift from my S4.

I have a soft spot for Sony products and can confirm the noise-cancelling earphones will be 10/10 (used them on a Sony MP3 player 2 years ago, incredible).

How is the S5 the only flagship announcement? All flagships offer near identical specs..The Z2 in fact offers better specs on many fronts..For me the best phone from MWC was the Z2. The details and styling could be much better (bezels?) but then the S5 is not pretty or a departure from the s3/4 design either. Its like giving a note 3 internal spec on a 5.2 form factor with an awesome camera minus the bloat.

Here's a comparison of the 2.

Thanks for that video link! The Z2 looks to be an awesome device! I hope it comes to AT&T. It was kind of striking to watch the guy in the video use both phones one handed. Who says you can't use a 5 inch phone with one hand?

If it doesn't fit nicely in my pocket then that's too big for me.

I need to be able to carry it in my pocket comfortably.
