How do I check which Version of the 30" ACD I have?
The next thing would be upgrading to M3 Mini when it is released....but as I read the thread...M3 does not work. That's bad so for the Lifetime of this 30" ACD it will most likely an M2pro Mini....hopefully this will work.
This is how I find it in Monterey. If that has changed in the last two macOS versions, I do not know.

Go to About This Mac
Overview -> System Report
Hardware -> Graphics/Displays

For those wanting to hook up the Aluminum 30" Cinema Displays to an M1/M2, you want the HDCP-OFF cable. The Aluminum displays do not support HDCP.

Note…I have two 30" Cinema Displays connected to a 13" 2023 M2 MBP and my 2009 MacPro. The MBP is a work Mac and I use both displays in my job (I own these displays).

The signal is shared between both Macs using a high resolution KVM. I have the Club HDCP-OFF adapter.

For those wondering how I got two displays to work with the 13" MBP, let alone two 30" Cinemas, I'm using a USB-C dock that has DisplayLink. The second 30" Cinema is connected to the dock via a Club DisplayPort to DVI adapter.

Ok, yes or no:

1. all 30" ACD work with the HDCP-Off adapter (1510-A)
2. 2006 and before 30" ACD do not support HDCP
3. Later 30" ACD do only display HDCP content with the HDCP-ON Adapter

correct or not?

So do I need the 1510-A or the 1510 for my new late 2005 30" ACD?
I mistyped. All 30" Cinema Displays do NOT support HDCP. You need the 1510-A. For the record, none of the Aluminum displays (all three sizes) support HDCP.

There were no 30" Cinemas produced after 2010. They were all discontinued and the largest Cinema Display in the new redesign became the 27". Those 27" CDs DO support HDCP.

EDIT: I have gone and looked back at the link for the Club Adapter on Amazon and it indicates it's not compatible with the M3.

Seems like you need the 1510-A HDCP OFF version.
But I suggest you test with the adapter you have. Disconnect the display you are using.
Connect the other display. If there is an issue, as I suspect there will be. You will see it immediately.
It will not damage the display

This is my woking 30" ACD with 1510 Adapter HDCP-ON. Works perfect, so I ordered another 1510 HDCP-ON

M2pro will be my next machine then...if the upcoming M3mini is not supported with this adapter and monitor.

There is something else on this.

The 2008 30" works with both adapters just fine (1510/1510-A)
The 2006 30" does not work with 1510 or 1510-A without showing weird lines from left to right.
I can reduce these with raising the gamma/contrast on the driversettings but the 2008 does not have this issue at all.

Crazy. We will see what Apple releases at WWDC...my M1 Mini needs a faster replacement.

It seems your 2006 ACD has been produced before the aug 2006 silent update. It just does not support DHCP.

It does not care if 1510 or 1510-A both adapters do work, but both produce moving artefacts on black/dark areas.
you can compensate this, but not completely...there is more than the adapter that causes this. In fact 1510 (HDCP-ON) produces less artefacts. Someone speculated that these are interferences from the not so good shielded cables.

If you run the screen in half resolution, does that produce a good image?
Mine did. But at full resolution it was either completely scrambled, or a part of the screen image was fine. Like I mentioned, I only use it with the 3.1 now, and that has no issue at all.
So it is strange if it could be because of interference. That should have an impact using a regular graphic card with DVI-D connection on the 3.1 as well.

I suspect it might not receive the right MHz value for full resolution with the adapter(s)

No, I don't want to use half the resolution and the scaled image looks like it should, but for me it's useless.
I have to investigate this further.
