macorderupdate.com is what this site should be called. We can all expect another front page article about the first people doing unboxings of their iPad minis as well.
My Smart Cover has shipped yay.
I wish they made the Smart Case for the mini. I'm more worried about the back getting scratched up than the front.
It wouldn't shock me if the retina model comes out in March. I got new glasses. I need retina displays now.
Then don't get one of the crummy looking Apple smart cases. Get one of the multitude of third party folio cases. Protects front and back, and looks somewhat professional.

Unfortunately it isn't shipping yet.

Just 12 hours after iPad mini pre-orders went live, Apple has already begun preparing some of those first orders for shipment. The status reflects the final step before the packages are handed off to delivery companies.

good luck using it WITHOUT iTunes 11 being released !!!
I can imagine all those workers ripping the insides out of an old dated iPad 2 and putting them into the new iPad mini......Job Done!
It would have made more sense to sell the iPad 3 at $399 and lose the iPad 2 completely giving you the mini, iPad 3, and iPad 4.

Nice to see people's enthusiasm about receiving their minis, but I predict people will be disappointed by the screen size, relative to their iPads. I think minis will be great for new buyers, but if you already own an iPad (retina especially) I can already see the complaints about the screen being too small.
I'll welcome a new, full-sze iPad thats lighter, but when weight and portability are concerned, I take my iPhone with me. You still need to carry the mini in a backpack or briefcase (or purse), unless you carry it around by hand, due to its size. At the very least I'd have to see and hold one in person before committing to buy. Good luck to the early adopters though, I hope the minis meet your expectations.
Received confirmation email at 12:04 Friday, still in processing ( Delivers 11/2-11/6 ). Canadian Apple Store.
It's weird how they clearly don't really follow ordering order. I wonder how they manage to do it, maybe by destination or something like that?
I have an ipad 3, why can I only enjoy it for 6 months?
Every year a new model car come out,
How old is your car? mine is 2004 and I stiil like it,
why you have to replace you 6 month old ipad?

Some can't stand the thought of a better model being out there, it somehow diminishes what they have. Of course it doesn't matter, and that iPad3 would be great for years.
I like to roll mine right away as the value on tech gear drops quickly over time so it's either keep it forever or move it and move on. I do this, I use the full smart case type enclosures to keep my stuff looking like new, then use Amazon's trade-in program for top dollar returns. I moved the iPad3 for $660 which seemed good to me.
