Would anyone know why, in the iCloud system preferences applet, "Find my Mac" is greyed out for my iCloud account? It says "Administrator authorization required" whatever that means.

Is your machine set up with a recovery partition? I believe that feature requires one.

Anyone having trouble using their current APPLE ID to login to iCloud?

I never had a .ME account I've always used a gmail account and iCloud is saying it's not a valid ID yet I'm currently logged into iTunes with gmail apple ID...

Any suggestions?

I had this happen and it seems to be working now. Try again.

Lion Recovery Update is up now. 432 MB. I think you need both 10.7.2 and the Lion Recovery Update. 10.7.2 does not include the L.R.U.

Here's the link: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1464

Also, if you bought a new 2011 MBA recently and got iLife apps pre-installed, you need updates for those apps from the App store. iPhoto 9.2 is ~760 MB. Ugh. You can't use the stand alone updater, it's only for retail versions and it is half the size.

Does anyone know how to save these App Store downloads so that I can install on my other machines?

I can't believe how much data I'm downloading to do all of these updates. It's crazy. OS X, Ipads, ipod touch, iphones, ilife apps.

I believe so. Can't reboot right now (installing xcode 4.2), but I did try it out back in July.

Unless you meant "Internet Recovery" which my MBP doesn't support.

Actually just tried again. And I checked the Apple ID site and its down right now. So it must be overloaded.

It's fine I'll check it all tomorrow.

Plus the cloud doesn't matter until I get my iPhone this weekend anyway.

Anyone else having scrolling issues in Safari? I have multiple tabs open and scrolling in any causes massive graphics artifacts within the window that are cleared by either switching tabs or minimizing / restoring. Very odd.

bah, now we're on the third version of Lion and it still refuses to carry over the 'restore all apps at start up' status of the previous shutdown.

Same ticked box I need to uncheck every time

I got an error message after installing. I restarted and now all I get is the apple screen. I'm not very happy right now. I'd rather throw this 2 month all MacBook in a dumpster than visit an Apple store to resolve the problem. Oh well...

Well, if it makes you so upset, you can always go back to Windows Vista...

this is by design and is not going to change, if you're that annoyed by such a convince go find one of the many apps that removes this functionality
