So Apple are going to wait till Samsung can make them a screen for their new device?

I guess so. Then Samsung is going to wait until Apple makes the complete device so they can copy from it. Then they'll go to the court and blah blah.

iWatch will definitely need

a tiny & extremely power efficient bluetooth radio to tether with idevices
a great quality retina bendable screen
a gimmick that will make people want to wear it

Seems to me that the iWatch will be a product mostly for the USA.

Maybe. I don't know. Was just the first thing which came to my mind. Without rating. Just like that.

As far as the news goes. Samsung have already designed their watch with their screen and it's up for patent.

Or is it now possible to blame Samsung for copying Apple if Apple bring their device out after Samsung?

I think Apple needs to focus on, Great battery life, durability, (which includes being waterproof, sweat proof, scratch proof, etc.) and a product that would suit a larger demographic than just health geeks. Let's face it, the majority of people aren't into fitness so, for the iWatch to be successful it is going to have to have multiple exceptional features to get the common consumer interested in such a product.

What I would like to see:
Week long battery life
Waterproof and capable of withstanding atmospheres of depth (comparable to high end watches)
A screen that is fully clear in direct sunlight
Multiple sensors besides health related (TV control, iOS device control, etc.)
HIGHLY durable
Reasonable price

I just got a jawbone up 5 days ago ... And I definitely have to say these are pretty cool and useful ...I was thinking of getting the Nike fuel band but I didn't like the design ... I have to wear a suit to work everyday, I don't know about a smart watch as a watch but I'm definitely excited to see a fitness companion /wearable thingy from apple

I hope Apple doesn't emphasize the health & fitness features so much to where they are sacrificing other more useful everyday ones. Cook being the fitness nut he is worries me if he has the final say in what stays and goes and what to focus R&D on.

I have big wrists, I just hope this thing fits and not designed for a child and anorexia types.

Also mirror above comment, I hope this watch focuses more on functional features like providing 4G LTE internet and apps, calculator(s), etc...and I could care less about Nike+ and pedometers.

I have really small wrists so I hope it fits and not designed for big boned people. ;) Also Jay Blahnik and I own the same jacket.

We call this product the "iWatch", but it seems likely that telling time is the least of any of its functions. It might end up with a very different name ;).

"Exact"? I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Anyway, the only article I could find on Apple Insider about Blahnik was a RUMOR about his hiring. This is a confirmation of it. Rumors and facts are two different things, you know?

And this being a rumors site....macrumors was a bit behind the news but I could care less definitely not time sensitive information

A handsfree device that communicates with the world, as well as with all of our other electronic devices. Health & fitness, as well as health-watch for our aging population, will only be two of the areas covered by such a device.

If implemented properly --and judging by history and the amount of time they're taking, as well as the sheer number of people and experts they now reportedly have working on this rumored device, there's no reason to doubt, that Apple is going to do this any other way-- this type of device could truly be revolutionary. It's scope of applications is mind boggling!

To the naysayers: just watch.....no pun intended.

So Samsung will sue Apple this time. Same thing. It all sums to that: it's a golden era for lawyers.
