How to bypass the lock screen on any iPhone

  1. Slide the unlock slider.
  2. Attempt a passcode.
  3. If the first passcode was unsuccessful, try a different one.
  4. You may need to repeat this a number of times before the phone unlocks.

Unless it's set to erase on attempt 10. After which you jailbreak it then get to all the data the erase procedure didn't touch. DOH !! Didn't know about that one eh !!! Another good reason to jailbreak, you can be sure to erase all the old data on the phone. Apples erase does not clear everything.

The amount of apologists in this thread is ridiculous. This should not be acceptable and if it was an Android or Windows phone bug then everyone would be blowing their load over how it demonstrates their inferiority.

I don't care if it was a 40 year old virgin who lives in his parent's basement or anyone else that found this out. The fact that the bug exist at all is the problem, not how someone found it or that it's being reported on. I'm glad it is being reported, because it hold Apple's feet to the fire and we will see an update more quickly because of it.

You would think Apple would have learned to fully check out every scenario to bypass the lock after the previous bugs to do so.

The first update is not correct

I just did this on a device with a complex, i.e. not simple, passcode.

It's nice that you say you feel responsible to protect the world by verifying that this it correct (are you one of the mysterious white hat hackers?), but I say BS.

Okay...........how does ANYONE figure something like that out?

That is a more secure passcode then our regular passwords.

Except that after the first few attempts you get a timeout before you can try a passcode again, and if the next one you try fails you get a longer timeout before the next attempt...so you are probably looking at years of guessing if you were going to do it that way. Good luck.

Please dont call 911!!!!

I work for 911....those calls DO GO THROUGH...no matter how fast you think you hung up. Maybe you guys shouldn't be advertising this abuse of the emergency system??

Sorry....depending on the size of the center or police department we can get hundred to thousands of 911 Wireless misdials. No coo, No coo.

Off topic but curious, and before people think weird things I'm 28 so I didn't have a camera phone i had a pager when the first came out and were a huge brick that only were aboe to receive numbers that people left at the beep, and hardly Internet when I was 13-18, but if you had sex vid of yourself and a girl from your teenage days that count of child porn? Way off subject but this made me think about that question I have been curious about for teen these days that could tape their "doings" now and still have it years from now.

This is not the only repeat major security bug in iOS 6.1! I found one last night. You can use universal search to find iMessages that have been deleted!

I was shocked when I found it. I have reported the issue to all the tech sites. I hope one of them will publish it so Apple fixes the issue!!!

Doesn't seem to work on my iPhone 5 or girlfriends 4S. Both have 6.1. All steps performed correctly but the screen just goes black at the end (still backlit) with status bar on top.

First call made afterwards is labeled an Emergency Call lol

I thought 911 was suppose to be for actual emergencies... not assisting in hacking someones iPhone.

So instead of reporting straight to Apple, you report it to tech sites..nice...the tech sites dont own iOS, Apple does

Well all the companies and government agencies that switched from secure communication devices to iPhones offer a tempting reason to bypass lock screens. So I'd say people interested in confidential or sensitive information would want access to it.
