With Senseg's technology there are no moving parts - haptic feedback is not provided through vibrator motors.
Instead, an electrostatic field is used to mimic the sensation of interacting with different materials - I've seen a few demos and it really is magical.
Apples invite said:
"we have something your really have to see and touch"
That would be awesome, but I just can't imagine how this would work with a rigid glass screen, and I don't think Apple would use a plastic screen just for this.
It wouldn't say 'And touch', it would say 'And feel'. Probably.
Did anyone ever get this effect on the first aluminium macbook pros?
I often felt a kind of texture when touching the case around the trackpad, and could never work out what it was until a colleague told me it was an electric charge, it was a very strong sensation, not like a shock but like the casing was suddenly quite rough textured.
I'm sure I wasn't the only one that noticed this right?
Credits of this scoop goes to our own forum's Zweimeter who posted a thread about it, and allegedly tipped of all apple news sites, last week
