Danbo in the yard

This is me experimenting with a couple of Christmas gifts, Danbo and a SB-900. I'm loving Nikon's CLS so far!!

Mikeschmeee, I know you're a fellow Danbo aficionado so I hope you like this.
I already have a few other ideas I want to try :D

Nice colour tone editing, my only criticism is it seems as though the shutter speed was too slow on this shot and you picked up a little bit of motion blur from the subject, could've upped the ISO a bit higher to compensate, just looks a bit blurry, not badly, but it's noticeable. Other than that it's a really well shot photo, the lighting is really nice and warm on the subject which helps against the blinds in the background, that and a thin DOF is always nice :p

Cheers, I am a fan of the colours too however, after messing around I noticed that the shutter was to slow for what was the equivalent of an 80mm FOV. It looked sharp in the camera but on my laptop it was a whole different story. Something I will look out for next time.

Awesome sushi picture aKCLee!

Really like this too. Can I hazard a guess at a 70-200mm style lens?

I posted a couple of moody, b&w the past couple of days. It's really cold outside today, so I'm going to post a cheery, bright colors shot today to compensate.

A friend of mine that I shot across from the Verizon Center in DC. She was out test model for a photo scavenger hunt me and a buddy were trying to put together for the DC/Baltimore/NoVa Strobist group that I started. Unfortunately he passed away last month. I figure we can do something in his honor.

"THE OTHER SIDE OF NEW YORK CITY"
During my visits to New York City I spent a few long evenings in Manhatten trying to get some good night shots. While the city is interesting, the nightly rides on the subway often showed its poor side.

The Burren: a country where there is not enough water to drown a man, wood enough to hang one, nor earth enough to bury him

Not far from the truth from what I saw... it's a barren landscape of limestone with eroded water channels that are perfect for twisting an ankle but of little use for anything else

Nice shot - good composition and light as well! Sorry to hear that and all the best for the project!

Great colors and composition. I like the simplistic feel of this, it would make a nice wall print in an office. The chair on camera right looks as if it had Dennis the Menace as a lunch guest.

The Hill

Great colors and I LOVE the subject! Just purchased my first VW ('12 JSW TDi) and am loving it. Actually learned how to drive a stick in a sixty-something VW Vanagon. That was a challenge. The stick was about 3' long with some pretty long throws. As I recall the hp was around 43. Up hills and crosswinds were interesting:D

BTW, where was the photo taken. I'm guessing CA....SoCal.....Malibu/Hermosa Beach????

Cheers

My friend at about 2am on Jan 1st.

Made the great move of diving into the shallow end of a pool as it struck 00:00.

He was fine but now has a slightly Harry Potter resembling cut!

Please tell me how you get your watermark on your photo's like that! :p
I have a nikon j1 and upload to iphoto on my iMac

I don't know how appie57 did it, but I know there's a setting in Lightroom for a watermark which seems fairly comprehensive and easy to use.

Great colour & composition. Would look good in a frame on the wall (whoops... that's just what Dale said. Well, he's right)...

Thanks guys. Last night I made a photo book of my vacation photos, and that shot got a 2 page spread in it (cropped more narrow to fit).

I also really like taking and viewing old car pics. I like the combination of the model with the real thing.

Although this is a "family" pic I liked it, too. It is another 2 page spread. The crop for that layout puts the boy's head right in the top left corner of the page.

This is before I became a photo shop master ;). If you look closely you can see the shoop. Strike that, if you glance in the direction of your monitor you can see the shoop.

Seriously though, if you want to learn how to do some really neat tricks in photo shop, start doing car rig shops. After a week straight of photo shopping car rigs out of pictures I felt like I had learned more than the previous 7 years of using photo shop.
