Apple Begins Shipping iPhone 4 to Customers

I am sure nothing, it will be held until the 24th. I saw a couple more like mine and they say the 23rd also.
Yep. Just got mine as well. Shows delivers on the 23rd also. I'm not holding my breath about that but I guess I can hope.
What time did you preorder?
My guess is that the shipment notifications are based off the order time.
I'm starting to have doubts mine is still "Not Yet Shipped"

What is interesting is that while the tracking numbers are not in FED EX's system, it is Apple reporting that it delivers by the 23rd, not fedex.
Wouldn't it be interesting if Apple, to avoid the ATT system problems of last week, and of previous years, decided to let some subset of preorders (say the ones through their website which is the ones they can control most easily) arrive on the 23rd to ease the activations systems for all the ATT.com and retail store phones on the 24th.

I ordered at 6:44 am PDT and didn't get "prepared for shipment" til this afternoon.
I'm not sure about orders from att, but mine was done through Apple and I got an email. When I clicked on the track shipment link, it took me to FedEx's website which says that shipping info has been sent to fedex...didn't see anything about where it was being shipped from, etc. It does say an estimated delivery time of 4:30pm EST for me though!

It's 11:30am Sunday in China, maybe they're starting ship stuff off. Just a theory
I ordered 2 32GB phones. The one ordered at 4:15pm PDT shipped. The one ordered at 1:00pm PDT is Prepared for Shipment still.

I just got a shipment notification for my wife's iPhone. The order was placed at 3:44 PM PDT on Tuesday. Shipping via FedEx, and it currently says "Delivers by Jun 23, 2010", though of course FedEx will hold it until the 24 in reality.
My order, which was placed at 3:31 PM PDT, changed to "prepared to shipping" 24 hours after my wife's, but I expect to see it ship soon too.

If Apple put 'do not release until the 24th' instructions on it, then they will not.
I ordered at 1:30am PDT and mine still says In Progress....I assume I'm one of the first ones but no shipment notification for me...
