I'm assuming by quad-core you're meaning the i5 @ 2.8GHz, not the dual core with HT @ 3.6GHz. Did you get the 5670 512MB or the 5750 1GB with this machine?
Are you going to install Windows 7 on it? If so, GPU-Z should tell you if the GPU is a mobile or desktop GPU.

i got the new 2.8 quad i5. Comes with 1gb 5750. If I can manage to get a Win7, I'll run that for you.

alright, first of all not srue about the OP but mine is that quad core i5. Second I already posted the geekbench for me... it was 6712

I will get windows seven on soon... I am waiting for a handbrake. A 2:15 movie is taking 30 minutes to complete at 62% constant quality and using .mp4

looking at system profiler and the picture of the inside olf the mac it looks like it is the desktop version... i will double check later through windows seven however i am pretty sure it is the desktop version...

Awesome thanks! It doesn't matter what version of Windows it is I don't think, as long as it is GPU-Z, it'd be awesome if you've got one lying around, but otherwise don't worry about it.

IMac with 8G is the slowest mac I have used in twenty years

What a sample of junk and how can they have the guts to charge anything for this piece of junk, I'm mad because my money will be now held for up for thirty days.
Who is running apple anymore? What has happen to the company that I have supported and respected for over twenty-five years. This machine is slower than the very first I book:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::confused::confused::eek::eek::eek::(

Did you confuse your iMac with your toaster?

So the new quad i5 produces a Geekbench score of 6712... uhh...

043238-imac-core-i7-core-i5-benchmarks.jpg

It can't be slower than the old one, can it?

EDIT: Oh wait, these are 64 bit benchmarks. Any 32 bit ones out there? Can anyone straighten this out for me?

if it is a mobile version, any chance to be a 5870m at least?

EDIT: sorry, as long as it is BROADWAY PRO/LP there is no chance to be 5870m, little bit disappointed

OP, R U really willing to install an entire operating system (W7) just to run a test for people on a forum?

Yes, the 5850 will be better than the 4850 :)

I wouldn't be so sure about that. It seems a lot of benchmarks have the 5850 neck and neck with the 4850 with at least one site saying the 5850 is SLOWER than the 4850.

Gah, I wish Apple didn't play this game.

i am sure someone will get w7 by tomorrow, im having a bit of trouble as I got the iso from my company so i need to reburn my disk since it got a little scratched up... of course I never saved the iso so as of now i am downloading it again. If i get it done in the next hour I will test it out however it seems like its a mobility 5850 according to others.

while i wait for my windws machine to download it I am sitting here in awe watching i res movies on this display...
