Just recieved my CaseCrown Protective Faux Suede Zip Sleeve Case (Navy Blue) to Protect the Apple iPad 2 (Newest Version) from amazon, and it is amazing. Here is the short impression I posted on amazon.

I've seen other reviews for this sleeve for the iPad 1. But I think they might have changed this sleeve for the iPad 2 since there is only half an inch space on one side of the iPad inside. And only an inch space on the top. The inside is well protected from the zippers by two flaps that prevent the zipper from making contact with the iPad. The pocket on the outside perfectly holds my HDMI to iPad connector cable, and an extra USB cable for emergency syncs. The seude also feels very very nice on the outside of the case and it is just a very nice case overall. I got it for $12 and I'm considering buying another just because of how cheap and good it is. Only thing I'm alittle disappointed about it the fact that I also wanted the outer pocket to be able to hold my iPad charger so I would have everything in this one case, however it is able to fit in the pocket, it bulges out and looks very weird so that's not a fault of the case, more of how bulky apple makes it's charger. But other than that it is an amazing case and I say you should buy 2! *Fits the iPad 2 very nicely.*

Picked up this one from Amazon. While it may be cheap (got it for under $5 shipped), it's very loose. Just giving a heads up to anybody who might want to pick it up.

I purchased an Insase Neoprene sleeve for the iPad and it fits perfectly with the iPad 2 and Smart Cover. I was concerned about some sleeves being to big unless it was a model specifically for the iPad 2 with a cover. When I had the first iPad with the Apple case, a lot of sleeves were to small. Having it fit snug, but not to big or small was important. I've posted a photo of the top of the Incase sleeve with the iPad 2 and a cover inside. The zipper is not encumbered at all.

As an aside, I bought mine at Best Buy, which was considerably more expensive than on-inline, but this way I was able to test the fit before buying it. I'm glad I did. Plus I got it immediately this way. Anyways, it was $45 at Best Buy and is only $28 at amazon.com, but rest assured it fits.

One more thing. After only having the sleeve less than a day, I accidently knocked it off the kitchen counter with my iPad inside. It landed flat with a big "chush" sounds. No damage at all. Feeling pretty lucky!

Since I won't be using a smart cover, I'm going with the Incase sleeve plus made for the iPad 2. Hopefully BB will get thme in stock soon.

i've found that not only do some of my ipad 1 cases work with the new iPad 2, but sveral of them (I have a bunch) fit much better now :D (go figure)

For instance, I have two cases that I bought immediately after the iPad 1 was released. These cases were made hastily, as they didn't account for the iPad1's curved back (see were this is going? ).

One is the 'Crazy-on-digital' foilio case, and the other is the Griffin Folio (I think many of you bought these, who owned the iPad 1 and are jumping the gun (like your doing now-hence this thread ) :D )

Even the original Apple case fits ok, BTW.

The only real issue is the speaker, but you can always take a thick pin and perforate the area. This isn't a crazy as it sounds as that's how the case manufacturers are doing it ;)

Also, just a heads up. I tried putting some black duct tape ('Duck tape' brand BTW )on a small area on the back were my fingers go and this works very well. It doesn't look shoddy at all, and is actually a pretty good idea. Just enough to give it grip, yet not look awful. If the piece of tape is small it will (Most likely) come off pretty easily. (at least you be able to remove it and clean the area).
note: The 'Duck tape' band is very good (fairly thin ) and lies flush, without fraying at the edges.

I may just keep it this way, along with the smart case. The back is TERRIBLY slippery, and needs something IMHO

Do most of these sleeves offer enough wiggle room if the iPad 2 has a slim folio case on it? I've got a Yoobao on order but would like to put the iPad in something a bit cushier for travel (with the folio on it).

Thanks!

I will have this same set up - I would like to know the answer too.

Thank you.

I bought the Incase sleeve for the original iPad for my iPad 2 at the suggestion of some here but I returned it today. Too much wiggle room even with the smart cover on. The search continues.

Temple Bags

I was looking for an iPad 2 sleeve that would fit the iPad w/ Smart Cover, and still not add too much bulk, but still give some protection. This is what I found from Temple Bags.

This is my first post here and I was going to have to comment that I ordered it last week and was told it's on back order until June 3. Then, after registering for this site, I go into my emails to click the "activate account" link in the email from MacRumors and lo and behold the email right before it was an email from Temple Bags telling me it shipped! Didn't see that one coming! :)

Update - So now i just got an email saying that "your order shipped" email was an error. Still on back order till June :(

Anyway, I like that it has a cover, as I don't trust that w/ the time a sleeve w/ out a cover won't loosen enough for it to slip out. And I prefer a cover w/ a clasp rather than a zipper, as I just think it's going to be quicker and simpler.

bought this recently:
http://stmbags.com.au/catalog/ipad-bags/jacket-ipad/

initially was going for the booq boa skin XS because its really thin and looks great matching my ipad with a red smartcover, but didnt like how the end of ipad popped out a bit and felt it was a little too thin to be in my bag with heavy books.
then decided to go for a full zip case, was hoping to get the incase to match my macbook pro one but found the STM one in a local shop and got it because its cheaper (located in aus) and didnt have to wait.
im glad i did because it also had some extra pockets. but great thing is it comes with a shoulder strap so you can sling it on its own, although currently i remove it as i just chuck it into my bag with other stuff. really versatile.

Ha funny thing I realized today, sometime ago I ordered a carbon fiber case from DRO....and well the result was not pleasant.

I have rebuilt the inside of the first case they sent me with padding that fits, and looks better, but they sent a second case for free. (which fitted and looked as bad as the first)

the iPad1 fitted way to snug in the case and was almost not able to get it out.
but it looks like somehow they already knew the iPad 2 would be thinner, as it now seems to fit perfect in the iPad1 case

I still think their products are way overpriced for their (not so good / crap ) quality, but at least they now have a good fit :D

I think this is a nice option too. I have a rear-only Zagg Shield, for when it is not being carried, it will protect the aluminum back from scratches. But I want this sleeve for transport. Still listed as "coming soon".

(as a side note- the Zagg Shield is awesome! So easy to put on perfectly due to the flat back on iPad 2 this time - the rounded back of iPad 1 was a challenge, but the results on the iPad 2 are flawless- and it provides a grippy, non-slip quality to the back)

I just bought the Tucano Doppio and am really pleased with it.

Nice snug fit with smart cover on, really easy to slot in and take out, and second pocket perfect for accessories. Good and slim in my handbag.

Incase sleeve..

I also got the Incase sleeve to use with my ipad2 and black smart cover. I saw somebody mention it was more at Bestbuy, but I paid $29.99. It's funny that some people are saying it has wiggle even with the smart cover because this thing literally fits my ipad 2 like a glove. I mean there is literally NO wiggle at all with it on. If anything it's slightly tight which I like. I'm curious if there is 2 different versions of this, because even without the smartcover on my ipad has barely any wiggle to it in this case. Very well worth the $29.99 if you ask me.

I use the Incase sleeve from my original iPad. It fits great with my Smart Cover, and you can probably find an original iPad one pretty cheap.

Some really cool choices! It's amazing how expensive simple sleeves are being sold for simply because they are for the iPad. Many reviewers complain about too tight of a fit for their iPad1s, so maybe they'll fit perfectly for the 2.

I totally agree! A simple sleeve and many cost like $20 and up. I looked at Waterfield Design's sleeve for the iPad 2 and while it is nice looking I wish it were about $8 cheaper ($12 instead of $20)!

I'm looking for a good fitting sleeve at closer to $10 than $20.

Two questions..

1. Why would you want a slim sleeve?? One of the main purpose people buy a sleeve is to offer protection while they can slip the slip in their bags. The pouch needs to have enough cushon or some sort of padding like Neoprene to protect the screen from any sort of pressure.

2. Why would you want a sleeve that has extra space to add accessories. I see ppl keeping stylus, or iphones pens.. purses.. etc.. Wont that damage your screen even if simple pressure is applied.

Response to 1: I want a slim sleeve to give my iPad 2 and Smart Cover just a layer of protection when I carry it inside my Tumi handbag. I don't need extra foam padding and the like, just a soft felt-like cover is good enough. Adding more cushioning is simply going to take up bulk in my handbag which is unnecessary.

Response to 2: Good question. I don't plan to get a sleeve with extra pockets. Not necessary.
