in all the pics people post of their gold iphones you cant even make it out on a lot of them if its silver or gold

5S Buyers: What Color Are You Getting? [Merged]

silver! This is my second silver Iphone. Gold might represent ' show off 5s' now but be careful. If no gold next year then its ' hide my obvious old 5s' in a case as its showing that I have the previous model. Silver and black have stayed consistent every year so far.
Also more likely to be damaged gold 5s's in future as many will refuse to put them in a case in fear of hiding the 'show off' statement.

Got the white/silver originally but that had a fault and no replacements available so I had to return it. Since then, I've only managed to get the space grey (which is sitting unopened in my house). Debating whether to keep what is effectively a black phone as it'll be in the leather case or wait for the white/silver again. I've had black for years so fancied the change, plus don't really like the home button on the space grey but it's getting tedious trying Apple stores every few days and I can't wait 3 weeks without a phone for online orders.
If only they had released a space grey which had a grey front....

I felt like you until I actually held the Space Gray in my hand, and now I love it!
I've had every iphone since the 1st and would always bounce back and fourth between black and white. My 3GS was white, them my 4 was black, etc etc. But most recently I had a white 5 and honestly I loved it, just loved the way it looked and all. And I was set on getting a silver/white 5s, until I walked into at&t and played with it. Yes felt like my 5 and I liked the way it looked, but that silver ring around the home button turned me off and got me looking at the Space Gray with that stealth look and all. To me the silver ring looks a little cheap and IMO will deff get scratches, I'm picky like that with my phones.
So anywayI went with the Space Gray and have to say I absolutely love it. Got it in a tech armor matte grey TPU case and just love it!
I know the feeling. I went out to the Apple Store on Launch Day with the intentions of getting a 64gb gold. Of course they only had one and one of the first people in line got it. At the time I was disappointed but now I like the space grey and glad I have it. Guess the gold shortage, for me, was a blessing in disguise
I would prefer iPhone 5s in silver if I weren't getting case. If you are covering your fragile iPhone in a beautiful case does it really matter what iPhone colour you get? I got iPhone 5s in space gray because space gray model was readily available on Carphone warehouse when I ordered it. I put it in a case from day 1 & I don't miss silver model.
It kind of matters when you look at the color of the face/bezel, some people like it white and some like it all black when the screen is off. And there are a lot of transparent back cases out there to show off your phone color.
I originally had space gray, loved the color, was obsessed with it.
However, my 4S was white, and I was so used to it. White doesn't show fingerprints. I found myself wiping my space gray every 30 minutes because the screen was full of fingerprints.
Took it back and exchanged it for the silver. So much happier. Again, space gray was a beautiful color but there is something about a white/silver iPhone. Every iPhone I've owned has been white, so maybe it's just my thing.

I am getting the 5s, but i don't know which color to get.
I want it to match my MBA because thats the mac i use the most. When i went into the apple store i tried to match the aluminum body of the iPhone 5s in black/space grey and it turns out that it is a little darker than the MBA's aluminum shell. I was thinking that the 5s would match the MBP more because the black bezel around the screen. the MBA, however, doesn't have that black bezel, but it has an aluminum one.
So i am torn between 2 colors. The Space Grey (Black) and the Silver (White). Which one should I go with to match it with the MBA???

Exchanged the Space Gray 5s I got last week for the silver because honestly it just matches every other Apple product I own, and I missed that squeaky clean look that my white 5 had all the time.... Yes I hate smudges,,,lol!
