New MBA--refurb less than 14 days into ownership.

When working on the computer, occasionally (about 4 times now) if I let it sit idle (I assume long enough for the display to dim), the screen will go gray and freeze/not respond to keyboard commands. The keyboard backlight will stay on. I can manage to reset it after manipulating the power button a few times.

I do not lose any work; OSX allows me to reopen the windows I had up before the freeze.

Any idea what this could be? Advice? Thanks.

No idea what it would be, I'd try to do a screen shot and see what you get (Command+shift+3). If that doesn't do anything, take a photo of it and take it to the Apple store, that shouldn't happen.

Not normal behavior.

Invoke the factory warranty. That's what it's there for.

Give Apple a chance to get it right.

Thanks for the advice. That's what I'm thinking. I'll try to replicate the problem and get a screen shot.

Happy new year! :D

Update

Turned out to be an issue with the OS. Reinstall solved the problem. Thanks for the outstanding service from the gentleman at the Boston Genius Bar whose name I failed to catch.
