So much for Cook's promise to release new products "throughout 2014". The guy's full of BS as usual. It will be the same as last year and the year before with everything released in a 2 month period between Sept and Nov. I think it's stupid but I guess it seems to be the way things are going to be from now onwards under Cook. Much prefer Steve's old approach of releasing things over the year to keep the buzz going. It also made it much more affordable than having to wait and have a huge bill for product upgrades once a year.

Yes. I especially don't understand why Apple ceded the Grads, Dads, and Moms gift season by shifting the iPad launch to fall. It's no wonder why sales are down.

Bummer, dude. I was hoping that the new Apple TV would get announced. Nothing wrong with the current one but it does not have any features that make it worth getting rid of my 1st gen Apple TV.

To be honest I find my concept of the Apple tv remote (link here (the second picture)) a much more realistic option as a remote, having a complete display with a digitiser is going to increase the price by like 100%

This is very plausible. We will all find out on the WWDC keynote day though for 100% sure though.

If a new Apple TV came out I might get it. I just need to find a reason to get one. I'm still working on that.

Definition of expect
- confidently believe something: to believe with confidence, or think it likely, that an event will happen in the future
- wait for anticipated thing: to wait for, or look forward to, something that is believed to be going to happen or arrive
- demand something as right or duty: to demand or anticipate receiving something because of a perceived right to it or because it is due or appropriate

Lets hope it's point one and two. And not point three in all these posts where every so called expert expects things from Apple in the future.

That translator though :D

Still crossing my fingers for the iPhone. I think it's more likely for a June announcement this year than any other given the volume of leaks and lack of other expected hardware announcements. Of course, still a longshot.

Longer than a long shot, there's no way that's going to happen. iOS8 will be on whatever new phone comes out, that'll be a buggy mess in June, a slightly less buggy mess in July and possibly usable by mid-August. Early September the new iPhone (4.7", there is and never was a 5.5" this year and I don't think next either) will be announced shipping on, my guess, 20th September.

Epayment system might be revealed during this event. Anyone still rmb? That's my guess though.

I think this was a given.... I believe they will either launch a new model during new iOS hardware announcement this September or at its own early next year as long as content agreements are in place.

The only hardware that will be released this summer will be a new MacBook Air with Retina display. I then believe they will update it again this fall with a CPU bump when Intel's new processor come out, they will then update the rMBP.

This fall they will release new iPads, iPhones and the iWatch. The new products in development will only be the iWatch and rMBA. Other than that, I don't see the Apple TV ready until next year (possibly this year).

Mac Mini?
I'm hoping so too; if it's getting a redesign then it makes sense to show it off.

Still, I would have thought that if iWatch and Apple TV were nearly ready then WWDC would make sense for them, as it gives a chance to talk about the software involved, so developers can get a head start, even if one or both products are going to come later.

Apple absolutely must release an SDK for the Apple TV and allow a proper App Store with Apps installable from any Apple-registered developer if it is serious about TV.

If it doesn't happen at WWDC this year it will be a huge lost opportunity.

XBMC and other similar apps that can stream and play other file formats with HD sound need an official avenue.

Speculation, thats what it is..

If they don't announce it at WWDC, it could still be a 'silent' update couldn't it?

Still, on the other hand, 'No mention' could imply not this year cos Apple's struggling, like how Apple Television, but we never hear from that now.

They did say Fall.. Maybe they forgot their seasons ?

As many have said already, that's not a surprise at all. WWDC previews software, not hardware.

Software gets its innovations through hardware possibilities with Apple. One never goes without the other. Rumors why Apple would not announce new products at this event are beyond me and should not be considered.

So that's why Apple announced iPhone 4 pm rMBP and nMP at WWDC. If Apple had already held an event this year for Apple TV or some other hardware people probably wouldn't be expecting anything but software at WWDC. I'm still hoping we at least see a new Mac mini and perhaps 4K display announced.

Yeah. That's true. All our views, are of course, speculation. We'll just have to wait and see! Not long now though, it will soon come around :)

It'd be surprising if they announce iOS 8 Healthbook whitout the iWatch

Or new iPhones that may have features baked in for certain things like the S5 does....

Then again, for two years we've heard, "Apple has products ready to roll in our pipe line in all new categories..." it's all Tim Cook ever says.

And we never see it.

Always happy to see what new things come to OSX though.... even though it's been an age or two since anything revolutionary has been done to it.

Something does not add up.

This year Apple supposed to release

iPhone 6 (4,7)
iPhone 6 (5,5)
New Apple tv 4
iWatch
Updated iPad
Updated MacBook Pro
MacBook air Retina
iOS 8
OSX 10.10

But when..?
Apple won't release a iPhone 6, iWatch & Apple tv at the same event.
So if Apple does not release some hardware at WWDC (Apple tv, iPhone, iWatch), they sadly won't release these new products (ATV4 & iWatch) in 2014.

Dude, Apple often have more than one or two media events every year in addition to WWDC. Depending on when the new hardware is ready, they'll announce a media event a month afterward.

Meh, I wouldn't put too much thoughts in what any CEO says, especially when you already know the CEO is BS'ing? Just ignore them and always set your expectations low. This typically works for me.

You can always save the cash for those 2-3 months worth of purchases. I try to do this and half of the times, I ended up saving more money because I wasn't interested in any of the stuff that came out.

There're also the iWatch domain names being snapped up by Apple, but I don't think that that solidifies anything.

That could perhaps be a sign that Apple wants to keep anyone else from releasing something with that name and causing confusion.

Or something called iWatch is coming out. But it's not a wrist band. Say a new video viewing service?

Depends on what Healthbook is. If it's just Passbook for health apps then it doesn't have to have an iWatch.

----------

You are probably right but they'll have to announce something or the stock will tank.

Not really true. The stock tanks or not based in the analysts and their BS not on what Apple actually does or doesn't do. So they could not announce some new whatever and have no effect on the stocks, especially when you consider that the stock split will be happening near to the same time.

----------

Revealing new AppleTV along with an App Store for it would be the cherry on top in a developers conference. Same for the iWatch.

I don't know why Cook would "not use WWDC to unveil this".

If such things are actually happening then yes WWDC would be a good time IF Apple wants advance prep performed. If say this new Apple TV store is just for apps for viewing videos then Apple might feel that revamping for the TV is optional and not care of networks don't do it right off. Or they might contact the networks directly with the information and orders to keep it under wraps.

Besides, when it comes to Apple Products that have new software Apple doesn't tend to open it up to all developers before it goes on sale. Apple chooses partners (think Nike, Yahoo etc) that develop apps that are ready to go on day one and then open up the ecosystem to all developers.

Health book will be able to be used by third party software because Apple doesn't make all the hardware that will take advantage of it, so it would make sense that it is shown so Withings etc can develop for it.
