It's always exciting when Apple snaps up a company, and watching their tech get implemented
What has been implemented from previous purchases in the past 5 years? I ask because I honestly don't know.

And yet my electric kettle, my hot plate, my humidifier and my rice cookers all have their patented magnetic plug, so I'm not sure why we should be pissed at Apple...Very innovative of Apple. Almost as innovative as taking a magnetic plug used on Asian Water Kettle and putting it on a laptop and then patenting it.
For being such a perfectionist his headphones sounded like crap.

And though not always evident at first, eventually, there always seems to have been 'method to their madness'.

I don't know whether you've noticed or not but that's kinda what Apple are all about. Taking existing ideas and applying them in areas where no one else has thought to do so.
…..I'm just wondering how the Beats thing will eventuate in real life

The $60-70 Zojirushi models have have them for at least 15 years. Maybe they're only for the Japanese market?Magnetic power cord on a rice cooker? I guess my Panasonic SR-DF101 is too low-end to have such a feature.

They're mostly found on water kettles for safety concerns. My $300 something Zojirushi rice cooker doesn't have it.
Higher-end and bigger capacity rice cookers usually don't have a magnetic plug, probably because they don't need to be moved around a lot.I'll stick with our zojirushi np-htc10.

Nor does ours, it retracts.
This will be a game changer.
