Very innovative of Apple. Almost as innovative as taking a magnetic plug used on Asian Water Kettle and putting it on a laptop and then patenting it.
And yet my electric kettle, my hot plate, my humidifier and my rice cookers all have their patented magnetic plug, so I'm not sure why we should be pissed at Apple...

For being such a perfectionist his headphones sounded like crap.

This is about Dre and jobs being compared to as perfectionists right?

Maybe he just never used his own headphones, cause for a music perfectionist he missed the music part :)

I don't know whether you've noticed or not but that's kinda what Apple are all about. Taking existing ideas and applying them in areas where no one else has thought to do so.

What has been implemented from previous purchases in the past 5 years? I ask because I honestly don't know.

Siri
Maps
Processors in your iOS devices

I don't remember either!

And though not always evident at first, eventually, there always seems to have been 'method to their madness'.

I'm just wondering how the Beats thing will eventuate in real life

Magnetic power cord on a rice cooker? I guess my Panasonic SR-DF101 is too low-end to have such a feature.

So Patenting existing ideas...... Sounds about right.

Obviously I have the same information you have, but I'm thinking having bought Beats, a whole new segment of younger buyers could now be tapped into even more by Apple, or even attracted to their ecosystem, in addition to the fact that with Beats' current yearly revenue, that $3 Billion could be recouped in just a few years, and that's without even talking about the impressive growth rate of their streaming business (from launching in January, to 100,000 subscribers in March, growing to 250,000 by May), or what leverage Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre could bring to the table when it comes to negotiating deals with record labels or movie studios.

There are no sure things in business, or life for that matter, but acquiring Beats may very well turn out to have been a great move for Apple.

The $60-70 Zojirushi models have have them for at least 15 years. Maybe they're only for the Japanese market?

They're mostly found on water kettles for safety concerns. My $300 something Zojirushi rice cooker doesn't have it.

Next, is there going to buy yelp? Because yelp has a lot of numbers of business and reviews.
