Not a fan off lopsided victories. I'd like to see Portugal do something.

It will be a one-sided game.

seriously that was one of the most stupid red cards i've seen since years ... first he smacks Müller in the face .. that would perhaps been a free kick at best against portugal... and then he goes and headbutts a player sitting on the ground ?
the Portugal coach should have instructed his players to calm their game down instead of letting his players go into a frenzy

..and Müller scores the 3rd for Germany

had Khedira hit that empty goal it would have been even worse... now Germany will hit them with counter attacks until the end

I agree. It was a foolish reaction from Pepe. It will be ugly for Portugal. I always root for Germany (and Spain) in the WC but I hope it doesn't get too ugly, it would be embarrassing for them plus I'm a fan of Ronaldo so ya

Özil would've scored if he did a chip shot. The goal keeper was right in front of him.

Far from the best week for Iberian soccer!

On the plus side, there's now a slim glimmer of hope for the USA if they can beat Ghana later today.

Özil nearly crying because he get's substituted out in the 62nd minute while his team being 3:0 ahead

there should be a *german national squad problems* meme

We MUST win today if we are going to have a shot at getting out of the group. I dont expect a win against the Germans, but if we could somehow manage a win, or at least a tie, with Portugal, we could just do it.

LOL. He wasn't impressed with his performance. Even though they were applauding him. He played well. So what if he missed the chance to score.

Portugal is a really good team. Don't be deceived by this loss.

Guys, do you think that was supposed to be a penalty for Portugal?

haha ok the portuguese are totally done:
on a Ronaldo free kick the germans put up a "wall" of one player (Lahm) and Ronaldo manages to hit him straight on ... hilarious

Müller scored his 6th-7th-8th world cup goal in total (7 games played)... and the press talked about "having a striker problem"

So far Germany is easily the most impressive team.

a loose ranking of top teams, based on the games played so far

germany, holland, brazil, france, italy, argentina, spain, colombia,

My ranking would be similar although I'd put Colombia before Spain.

Regarding Ronaldo, I know! Unbelievable. And at the end of the match, he looked like he was about to cry. Or I think he was.

Germany is good. Real good.

They've always been good. Don't you remember the last WC? :)

Yes they were good, but I'm not sure how you put them ahead of Holland after their first game.

I'm also not sure how we can gauge France by a game where they were playing a second tier team a man down for most of the match. I have no doubt they'll get out if their group, but that's a low bar.

chile shouldn't also be forgotten .. i think they will put up quite the show
IMHO i would put italy ahead of france ... if we are honest France didn't exactly face the strongest opponent ever

he really swallowed done some tears .. Germany beat them 4 tournaments in a row and he isn't going to get younger
Yes he is only 29 and 4 years from now he is 33 and very likely still world class .. his problem will be that really a lot other great players from this years squad won't be there anymore:

Pepe is 31, Bruno Alves 32, ricardo costa 33,pereira 30, mereiles 31, almeida 30, postiga 31

most of them will retire from the national squad before the next world cup and that's a lot of quality to replace. It's a whole generation of players

on Hummels injury : Löw said on TV that HUmmels received a hit on his upper leg muscle and it doesn't look too serious. The tendons (sp?) are OK but they will check him thorough.

This gif is my personal highlight of tournament so far...
