Sorry Apple but my phone has been sitting in my pocket for like 15 years. That's not about to change. I think I'm just going to not get an iPhone 6. I'll probably just hang onto my 5 and 5s and I'm looking into a Sony Z3c whenever it manages to make our shores here in the US. There's just so many things off about this iPhone release it's starting to smell bad.

Sad because I was just so thrilled with my 5s, my first iOS device ever. And I really like iOS! I thought I'd become an Apple devotee for life! Oh how the mighty have fallen and all that. bleh.
It's really okay. If Apple phones are not meeting your needs any more, you should find one that does. Apple could tailor their phones to meet every expectation you have, but in doing so, they could disappoint someone else. There is no way for them to please everyone, and sometimes you end up being the one who isn't pleased.

If you want it thick and rigid and heavy, and I want it thin and light and flexible, then I hope they do it my way and not yours (because I care more about me). If they don't do something my way, I will evaluate whether that is enough of a reason for me to switch. So far that hasn't happened for me.

In other news:

~ If you sit on a wooden bench, it bends a little or a lot, according to your weight.

~ If you press hard enough onto a cookie, it will snap.

~ If you drop a tomatoe, it will splat.

Using: Good

Breaking: Bad

Macrumors bot: I think you need a source code re-write, as you're parsing elementary rules of physics as "news".

Must be quiet, now all the pre-iPhone 6 "news" has passed (parsed).

If the phone is placed in a pocket, as it usually should be, it bends??? how does that follow? are you comparing an apple phone to a vegetable?

That sucks, but...

While I definitely feel sorry for those affected, what did you think was going to happen with such a huge phone in a limited front pocket?

Did you not FEEL it against your leg every time you sat down?

What is dumb about not expecting people to continue to store their mobile phones in the same method that they have for 10+ years?

You do realize Apple is not catering to some niche fanbase, but people on here act like it.

You said if they change the design are they admitting a fault. I said there is more than one way to look at that - no maybe they are admitting users are dumber than they gave them credit for. i.e. the 6 and 6 + won't bend if treated right. The 6 won't bend in a pocket if treated with the proper care. But users are not as smart as apple hoped and the lower denominator are bending the iphpne and spooling it for those that don't.

face it this article is out of control, 3 iphpnes bent out of millions sold and its a problem? lets wait till 1000s are reported ;)

maybe thats what he liked :D

Good for you!

never had this problem with my Note 3

That's great! Unfortunately, it's likely that not a single person on Macrumors (ya know, an Apple site), gives a ****.

And honestly, are there a lot of iPhone users that troll Android sites?

am I the only one that thinks a 4.7 inch iPhone with new specs/components, but same body style and materials as the iphone4, would be the ultimate phone?

I think the iphone 6 is absolutely perfect the way it is. Only thing i would change is maybe put a 2100 mah battery instead of the 1810mah. Now THAT would be the ultimate phone in my opinion.

"You're wearing the wrong clothes" is an even lamer excuse than the holding it wrong one.

Sorry, life isn't about doing what you want. It's about doing what others allow you to do.

You'll have to get over your teenage libertarianism.

Good design isn't just about making a smartphone ever thinner or more beautiful--but practical. If the device can't survive in reasonable, real world usage then there is a problem.

Now we'll hear from people that will insist that putting a smartphone in your pocket is irresponsible and reckless abuse.
A slightly bent enclosure is covered under the free one year (2 years if you have apple care+) warranty... Always has been! Back it up & take it to an apple store & you'll get a new one!

You store your phone in your back pocket? That's a disaster waiting to happen no matter which phone you're using (can get stolen, bent, broken screen, etc..).

Unless they discover that you put it in a vice and bent it for publicity.

Apple should've used steel. They use that in Ipods and it's stronger than aluminium and the added weight would also make it feel more sturdy.

I find it funny that there is any reasonable person that doesn't understand that a phone shouldn't bend under normal conditions which includes putting it in a front pocket. I'm amazed at the lengths people will go to say differently.

To prevent bending, iPhone 6 Plus owners may want to remove their iPhones from their pockets before sitting or bending.

In what world does that seem reasonable for at $1000 device??

Price is irrelevant - physics isn't aware of a price tag, and you can't pay to change physical properties of matter.

Once the whiners have run out steam, they'll find something else to harp on about for a week.

Huh?

But if not in their pockets, how should men carry their phones?

If the phone is too big for your pants pocket, perhaps a jacket pocket or holster.

I find it funny that any reasonable person would expect a phone that's too big for a pocket to fit in said pocket without bending.

Get ready to see an ad by samsung showing how Apple copied their galaxy round, how original their curved phone is,and how it sold 200 units.:p
