can anyone confirm reports of apple stopping overnight delivery on watches after 24th and kicking it back to 3-5 days ?

Most people who received shipment notification last night through this morning have stated that their notification from Apple says an April 29th delivery, but none of their tracking numbers are coming up on the UPS website yet, so they can't verify if this is just Apple saying it could take 2-3 to be safe or if it is actually the correct ship date.

Have any :04s in the US had any movement in the past day?

I thought there were a couple of people yesterday who said they showed movement with :04, but it was hard to tell, as not everyone was saying which country they are in (could have been Canada, which is ahead of the US on the time...I think they are currently in the :08s).

Just an educated guess, but the shipping time discrepancies may be due to differences in shipping methods or processes for Canada and the United States. It sounds like (based on my reading here) that Canadian customers were given the option of standard or expedited shipping, whereas U.S. customers only got standard shipping. In this instance, though, U.S. standard shipping orders are being sent via UPS Next Day Air, while it sounds like Canadian standard orders may be shipping now with a slower service.

What we need to know is whether or not U.S. orders that have gone to shipping staus within the last day are still being shipped via UPS Next Day Air. Can anyone confirm this?

This is really confusing, though. I contacted apple just to ask them about this and he checked with his supervisor, which took forever, and he assured me it meant my order came in at 5:57 a.m. and NOT 00:05:57. I'm with you guys, as many people have said what you are saying is correct, but for someone who contacts Apple and is told this, it's confusing and disappointing at first.

Most of these reps work from home or a call center environment. His "supervisor" was either his cat or his buddy in the cube next to him.

I've worked with servers. Unless something is SERIOUSLY wrong, you're not gonna get a delay of HOURS on an order.

I don't think there's a way to confirm this until those tracking numbers the US preorders received in the last 12 hours come up on the UPS website and they know for sure if it's going to be the 29th or earlier. I chatted with Apple earlier and asked them about the shipping method, and all they said was that they are using the fast shipping they can.

Oh, I know. I told him that I didn't believe he was correct because so many people in this thread were saying the contrary. You have to take what they say with a grain of salt.

I think one of the biggest frustrations is that with the Apple Watch, Apple forgot that it is a US-based company. What I mean by this is that in the past, US orders took definite priority. That is no longer the case. What this has meant is that someone might have ordered one of these watches at :05 in X country and has already seen a shipment occur. Meanwhile, a US order placed at :03 is still being processed.

This isn't a knock at non-US based customers. It's just something we in America have never experienced. Add in our ability to chat on forums like this and a lot of us are very, very upset and angry.

I think in the future, Apple needs to be much more transparent on how these thing work. At the minimum, they need to eliminate the range in shipment dates. Before we order, the system should give us a firm date on which we'll receive our product, whether that is on launch day or afterwards.

This 2-week range of dates is bs, again because we're seeing later orders already shipping. This entire thing continues to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I posted something similar to this a few days ago, and received negative feedback from people saying US citizens are entitled by expecting this. My example was that Ford wouldn't send out 100 new Mustangs in the US and 1,000 in Germany, so why would Apple do the same thing? I'm not entitled at all, but, like you said, the US has always received shipments first before other countries, so that's what we are used to from them. This is completely new to us.

Why is anyone here assuming overnight delivery? I think they probably only did that to get as many as they could out for launch day. Now, you won't see overnight deliveries until 5/7.

Apple didn't give us a chance to select expedited shipping. I for one tried to select it and probably put me from 03 to 05 order. My wife's watch ordered after mine got overnight delivery. I expect to have both orders to be treated the same way. If I ever get tracking information I will call Apple and escalate this all the way to Tim Cook if I have too.

It's weird but I have accepted this will have no movement for a while.

No way my watch is here Monday or Tuesday if I'm still processing today. I think most orders will come the first week of May :(

I agree with you. First Week of May seems likely based on current trends. Hoping for US shipments start moving.

Channel distribution of Apple Inc.

Marketing managers consider production facilities before squaring down to a particular distribution model. Apple Inc. is a company known for the employment of multiple distribution channels for reaching out to its customers. Apple Inc. has established different production plants to cater to the needs of its consumers in different parts of the world. Its plant in California caters to the needs of the US. Its European plant caters the European customers. And its Asian customers are served through the plant based at Singapore. This strategy helped the company to optimize its distribution cost

I originally expected overnight delivery because I chatted with an Apple Rep a few days ago and was told that every single Apple Watch preorder was going to be shipped overnight delivery. When the people received their emails in the past 12 hours and those emails stated 4/29 delivery dates, I was furious. But I hope that this is just Apple being cautious on their end and that the actual tracking information on the UPS website will say differently, once they show on there.

Apple might have chosen to go back to standard shipping for the normal time frame, since it's now released. I hope they don't, I live an hour from Louisville and an hour from Mt. Juliet so it's takes 1 day for me to receive UPS ground items, so it's basically overnight no matter what from those locations.

Agree on the ranges. I know Apple wants maximum flexibility to "under promise, over deliver" but this time it didn't work.

When you slip to 4-6 week delivery at roughly 6 minutes into the process and you were less than that when you submitted the order, something's wrong with the system.

Now that we know to have everything prepped and set for payment and home delivery (no more in-store pickups) can you imagine the server load in first 2 minute of future launches.

But this fiasco has created a new precedent. Next time we will clearly remember all of this and will not expect to receive our items so quickly, like it had happened before this preorder. At least for myself, I won't be so antsy like I was this time anymore. Maybe that's a good lesson to learn; order it, don't expect anything, wait for it.

My SS 42mm Bsb went preparing to ship last night, I am in the United States (Kentucky). I ordered at 12:03am pst, I am curious on when it will ship, hoping for Monday delivery.

Shipping requires two business days, so it should be Monday. Although, some are getting Wednesday as estimates, but I really can't see it being that long.

My confirmation number is time stamped 3:09:19 AM Eastern even though I ordered around 3:04- 3:05.... I just hope more dates start moving soon. Seems like it's taking a long time to take care of :03 people.

U.S., processing, no emails after the first one.

Yeah seems like the end of time range is when they expect the bulk of the orders to be delivered
