I'm 19 and only 172 cm.

Most guys have had their major growth spurts by about 15-16 so what's happened with you is perfectly normal. There's still some chance of getting a bit taller though, with it being pretty common for guys in their late teens/early 20s to have a few more smaller growth spurts.

Hey feel sorry for me I'm 161cm :( I hate being short
Yeah so do I, but I figure there's not much I can do about it, short of having my legs broken and extended, so it's not really worth worrying about. :)

I'm 18 and had a growth spurt about 2 weeks ago. I'm 191 cm now. I expect more too  Trust me there comes a point when you want to stop growing. For me that was about a year ago.

I leaped to 180cm (5'11") at 14 and from there eventually reached my final height of 193cm (6'4") by 21.

I virtually stopped growing at 18, but then had another growth spurt in my early 20s where I put on another two centimetres. 170 centimetres isn't short by any means. If you look at people around you in public places there will be plenty of guys shorter than that.

Man, don't even start complaining about height unless you're a foreign born Asian who now reside in the States. I'm not speaking for all Asians, but the harsh reality is that a majority of them aren't exactly tall and big like the average American.

I immigrated to the States when I was 7.5 and I'm only 5'6.5"

90% of my friends don't even break 5'10"

I'm sad, I want a height implant!

I'm 158 cm. I didn't have a way of properly measuring my height until about a week ago, when I found an old height chart in the garage...

I've already had my growth spurt, I'm not going to grow any more, or at least I hope not. I quite like being short...

I went from 4'8" to 5'5" in one year when i was in Year six (hurt like hell), I'm now 6'0.5". When I started high school in year seven I was in the top five tallest. When I finished high school in year 12 I wasn't even in the top 20 - everyone just shot up around me.

I haven't grown since about 99/2000.

When you reach the age of 18 you usually won't get any taller. From 18 and a couple of years on most people will see a change in width. Getting broader sholders, bigger chest and so on. Mind you this only happends to the males (in most cases that is :) )

I believe 180 cm is the average hight here in Denmark, so I'm quite happy with my 184 cm.

I'm 6'2" so that's about 188cm. Guys stop growing at 21. I stopped growing height wise at about 18-18.5 although I grew a lot broader between then and 21. My shoulders broadened out.

Look it from the brightside, short people live longer that long people.

Being taller isn't what its cracked up to be. Everytime I go home my mom is asking me to get stuff off the top shelves. I'm a walking reacher. Anyway I'm 6'2" and probably stopped growing about 3 years ago.

Yeah, im asian. Not all asians are short tho. My asian mates are all at least 177cm and above. THIS really sucks lol.

When i hang out with the white guys during trainings they are all at least 180-190 .... dang

i feel 180 is just right/normal

Btw, when you;re growing does your knees hurt? or which part of your body hurts?

Really? I guess I'm lucky that I'm half-and-half. I'm 170 cm but I was much shorter for the longest time.

Yeah, I'm 6'5" (195) and I've been asked on numerous occasions by random people to help get them something off of a store shelve. :p

Look at it this way:
you're still taller than most of the girls your age, and it's not like you're a total shrimp. Hell, Tom Cruise is about your height, and he's doing ok ;)

forget about it. How tall you are isn't who you are. Your personality/intellect will take you a lot farther in life than a couple extra inches ever would.

170cm is fine for an asian male. I'm 19 and something like 172cm, and I don't feel short around my asian friends. I haven't had any problems when it comes to asian girls either, since most of them seem to be around 160cm. Sports aren't too much of a problem, although having less reach is sometimes annoying. Just compensate with hops I guess...

Guys don't completely stop growing until about 21.

I'll reserve my personal opinion of Tom Cruise, but hey - from a physical standpoint, this is good news. =P
