That's OK mate, now if you'll excuse me I have to see the cops here after they pulled me over for drinking whilst riding in the pouch of my kangaroo to get back to my lean-to before the sun came up and everything caught on fire again.

What about when the dingo stole your baby as you were cooking a shrimp on the barbie?

WTF is a "shrimp?" We eat Prawns.

Looks like Apple's taking their time getting these ads up on their website - maybe the one with the bloke all frocked-up was deemed too offensive for the US audience...

New Ads not only in Canada

From montreal, i saw the Gisele Bundchen ad on fox, but its the same fox station as in vermont, so it must have aired there too.

Same thing...

I don't care what you call them...I'm just using the stereotype you see on American Movies and TV shows like the Simpsons.

Stereotypes aren't always accurate.

EDIT: Blame Paul Hogan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prawn) - "Paul Hogan's use of the phrase 'I'll slip an extra shrimp on the barbie for you' in a television advertisement was intended to make what he was saying easier for his American audience to understand, and was thus a deliberate distortion of what an Australian would typically say."

You won't see them in the UK

Hmmm... I've not seen any of these ads in the UK yet. Not ever.

These ads won't be shown on TV in the UK. I read an article shortly after the first batch of the ads were released that indicated that they breach advertising standards guidlines. A friend who works in TV said that they can't be shown as they show a direct comparison to only one other competitor.

ASDA can't say that the are better than Tesco, but they can say that they are better than Tesco, Sainsbury's, ALDI etc.

Seems a bit strange, but nothing in the UK/Europe surprises me anymore. Does any other country treat murderers and rapists better than law abiding people?

I haven't been watching much TV lately so I haven't seen the new commercials yet either. An online link would be nice.

(MY igloo is well away from moose crossings. Nyah. :p Just bring good snowshoes before you come over, eh? Snow's been particularly bad this August.)

The snow was terrible in August, but July was worse, eh?
I hate having to shovel my igloo's driveway all year round.

How can they breach UK/Europe laws, when the PC (type of computer of which Intel Mac can be also, i.e. can run Windows) is not a competitior (no single company is singled out, neither are PCs only made by just 1 company)?

I wish i understood it. But that's the explanation that i was given.

i seen one a few days ago while watching tv in my college's cafeteria... it was much to loud to pick out what was going on but i definitely know i've never seen it before.... wish i had more info on it :(. felt like yelling at everyone in the cafe to be quiet lol.

Is that the reason? OK I'm not surprised.

Actually, I just thought maybe it was the American accents that just wouldn't go down too well. Perhaps Apple could overdub the voices in a Queen's English BBC Home Service style.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I represent a Mac. My slightly less with-it companion on my left, well he represents a PC..."

Didn't know they weren't in the US

I've seen them all except for the counselling one. They've actually been on for at least a week up here.

I have been a macrumors user for a long time and really appreciate their hard work. However, I am going to stop surfing to macrumors.com if they keep putting those lame ads that stick to my screen on their site ... I DON'T WANT TO FILL OUT THE STUPID SURVEY!!!!

Just a rant from someone who has had enough :)

Does anybody have a clue what this guy is talking about? Sounds like a Windows user with a bit of spyware trouble haah :D :D :D

Here is one of the new Apple Ads - It's the Mac and PC meeting a counselor. I shot the ad from my TV using my camcorder. I just put it on YouTube so I don't know how long it will take before it's working.

Why do so many people do this? I mean, what happened to VCRs and Tivos, and even just running the line straight into your camcorder? It's just this is the absolute last way I'd record something.
