I did a search to no avail so I wanted to share this with everyone. When Techspansion closed their doors they said that they had no intentions to make their apps open source. It looks like they've change their minds.

VisualHub is now known as "FilmRedux" and is available on SourceForge (direct download). The other apps will be available as an open source product soon.

Edit: After further investigation, that link I posted hasn't been compiled. Does anyone have link to a compiled build?

Thats great. I was really hoping Apple would have just bought it and out it into Snow Leopard or iLife 09 but free is even better.

very easy to do. it took me just a few minutes to compile, and it works just like visual hub. i'm sure more people are going to want to know about this in the future. hopefully people continue to improve it.

I keep trying to build this but I am getting build errors.

heres the build. but now we just need an icon for it!

anyone know how to change that hideous "Start" icon to something a bit more OS X like?

Im having a problem adding .m4v or .mov files. Anyone else? Yes the .m4v is protected (Thanks Apple!) but the movs arent.

I too am having the same issues. I can't add any video files .avi or .mov inorder to convert.

Anyone else having this problem or know how to solve it.

Cheers,

May I add to this thread by asking how one might get the trial version of VH, which I have, to work in full? I'm quite willing to pay the US$25 or whatever it is, but all related VH links are now defunct.

Here are two versions I compiled in Xcode 3.1.1. I can't get either of them to work, but I've only tested it in Leopard. Could a Tiger user give it a try?

Tiger Download

Leopard Download

Edit: I've removed the versions I compiled. Please download the official build from www.transcoder-redux.com.

interesting question. i would like to know this as well

I'm waiting for X to come out. I don't have Xcode installed at the moment so I can't give compiling a shot.

What do you mean by "X"? FilmRedux opens for me, but I'm not able to add anything to the queue. No error message, it's just blank when I drag anything into the window or click the "+" button and navigate to the video I want to convert.

Just to be clear, I have no programming experience and simply compiled the original source code in Xcode.

Same problem

i am sometimes able to construct the package, but sometimes get a growl.applescript error.

I tried downlaoded the full version above and it will launch, but the same problems as others, I can not add video file, it just flashes and stays blank..
